Mooney_Driver Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Where is the ELT and battery located on a 1962 M20C? Quote
TurboExec Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 ELT could be anywhere the mechanic mounted it....usually in the tail cone, open up the back manhole and take a look in there. Not sure on the '62 where the battery is, but on most I have looked at it is up on the pilots side firewall....take a look under the cowl. Quote
eaglebkh Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 My battery is behind the cargo section, accessible through the big square panel on the pilot side. My ELT is mounted in the hat rack, but as Adam mentioned, it could be anywhere on our "vintage" planes. Quote
63M20C Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I have a 63 C model, mine is located just inside the tail section, accessible through the large access panel on the pilot side. Quote
ajoflyer Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 These items (ELT and Battery) are also in the rear fuselage, accessed by the big square hatch. Plus I have a flip door in front of the battery for a jump start when I haven't flown in a while...this is a 61 M20B Quote
