triple8s Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Wonder why this one is being parted out? http://www.trade-a-plane.com/detail/1752239.html Quote
Bob - S50 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Three ideas come to mind: 1. Stolen plane. No N number, address, or any other information given that can identify the plane. A search of the FAA registry shows no plane registered to the name listed on the ad, although it could be registered under a business or LLC. 2. Scam. Get your money but you get no parts. 3. Worth more in parts than as a whole and the owner does not want to fly any more. Bob Quote
ArtVandelay Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Corrosion makes the plane not airworthy? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
DaV8or Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Highly suspect with no N number, serial numbers or really any info on the plane. What about engine, prop and airframe hours? There are lots of scams out there. Be careful folks. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Area code is Hawaii. Let me know if you'd like to hire me to go check it out. Quote
Schinderhannes Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Take a closer look at the pictures, the "propeller design" might hold the answer... 1 Quote
DaV8or Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Take a closer look at the pictures, the "propeller design" might hold the answer... Could be. He maybe one of those guys that thinks you don't need insurance. On the other hand, why all the secrecy? Quote
MB65E Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 So what fits on a "65E"... I just shipped a half full container back from Honolulu in February. Darn!! Ailerons? Wing tips? Elevators? I know it will have the long rudder...etc. -Matt Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Control yokes and shafts make a nice upgrade for the pre-J models. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk Quote
Marauder Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Control yokes and shafts make a nice upgrade for the pre-J models. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk Scott - don't you need the Mooney drawings to support the mod? I know when I did mine back in the 90s the kit from Mooney came with drawings along with the hardware. Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I think you need a 337 but it is doable in my opinion without drawings. YMMV of course since FSDO interpretations vary widely. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk Quote
MB65E Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Already have the yokes. Ailerons and other hardware/hard parts would be nice. Fuel pump and servo, gear motor, still some good stuff in the panel... Anyone actually know what island it's on? -Matt Quote
N6758N Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Does anyone know if the seats from this will fit in my 68 C model? Quote
