I was out this afternoon boring some holes in the sky when I hear a guy call a 10 mile approach on one of our closed runways..no big deal, FBO did not hear the call so I gave the guy heads up on what's closed and open. He politely appreciates and acknowledges on the radio..no big deal. I really did not catch the aircraft type when he announced. He lands for fuel and I landed a few minutes later. While taxiing I did notice it was a newer aircraft, but still did not make out what it was. I put mine in the hanger and walked over to he fuel area.

The plane was a brand spanking new Piper Mirage with the new owner and a factory rep playing co-pilot while flying it to the owners home. When I first walked up and spoke to the gents I asked if they owned it, or were they just ferrying the plane for someone..The one guys said, my bank owns it..I just get to use it. We laughed and I said, most pilots have that in common, I got the nickle tour..wow, very nice. That's what a tad over a million buys these days. I still have nothing but love for my Mooney, that new Mirage leather sure smelled good though..LOL

I love our Mooneys because they fit us like a fine sportscar that just wraps around us once we get buckled in. That Mirage was like a big Caddi, lots of leather, big screens and plenty of room. I'd still rather keep our sportscar than the big caddi...plus my payment is probably much cheaper.LOL

We can also go...well, almost as fast with a very good tailwind and light load :)

Don't get me wrong though. I would'nt kick it out of my hanger if I won the lottery. It was very nice.

Thanks for the compliment Nate, you also have a gem of a plane..cheers
