MATTS875
I sold my 66 m20e a while back and every day I read mooneyspace topics.makes me really miss my plane, so ive got the mooney bug. The m20e I had w a fun airplane, but I need more room , so thinking about a 201. I had a cirrus before the e and the mooney was much more fun for me to fly. AlanA
I had a similar experience. I had a 201 for many years. I sold it and then missed it so much I turned around and basically bought an identical 201 a few years later. Rock solid plane. A blast to fly and easy on gas. HopePilot
201 is the sweet spot.
pinerunner
Sounds like you want a 201. Or if finances force you an F model. I've got an E and since I have short legs (29" inseem) the person sitting behind me gets to have legs. Despite the short legs I've still got a couple notches of forward seat travel and didn't need pedal extenders. Dave
rbridges
201 is the sweet spot. IMO it's the best bang for the buck in the mooney lineup.

MATTS875
Thanks for the replies. I think this buying process I will do differently. I bought an archer several years ago, a cirrus sr20, and lastly a m20e all from airplane brokers sight unseen....I know. I had lengthy conversations about the airplanes and did pre buys on all of them but never was really pleased with the overall condition once I actually saw them for the first time.I really like all the updated electronics in an airplane, but not a necessity. I am a private pilot hoping one day to get my ifr ticket. Thanks agin
FloridaMan
I saw your plane land at KSPG a while back. I believe somebody said that a guy from "deadliest catch" bought it.
triple8s
Wonder which one of those "Deadlist Catch" s a pilot?

garytex
MatS875: Just don't look at planes too far away. Closer to home you have the support base of mechanics you know and trust, acquaintances who may know the plane etc. Just start looking, and expect to look a little longer. Then you can spend a little more time with the plane, and know a little more of what you are getting. Gary
Jsavage3
Love my 201! It truly is an economical magic carpet! From Ohio, we've been to IA, OK, MD & PA in the last 2 months...12.2 hrs of flying on 120 gallons of av-gas! Passengers have told me before that the back seats are more comfort than the front. Thank you Mooney factory!
