  1. My airport is allowing privately built 60X60 hangars to be built. Basic insulated building with bi-fold door, cement floor, power and water run to the hangar but not connected are coming in at $350,000 per hangar. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  2. I went through the same nightmare when I replaced my lines a few months ago. Ended up buying every style of brake bleeder on the market to get it bled. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. That’s too funny Charles! I did the same thing in 1987. Said I wasn’t going to trim my beard until my house sold. Anyone remember “Black Monday” in 1987? By the time my house sold I looked like I belonged in a horse and buggy in Lancaster County, PA. [emoji3185] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  4. What I always think is funny is how much time is spent talking about how over priced Mooneys are. No wonder Cessna 172s of the same vintage sell for more than a decent Mooney. As for the eBay plane, yeah, the steam gauges are in the wrong holes. Easy fix. The value in that plane is the low engine time, recent paint and interior, three bladed prop as well as many of the upgraded accessories. Don’t want to pay $76k. Go find a $50k F and deal with 1,000 plus on the engine, crappy paint and interior as well as the accessories that all will begin their steady slide into the maintenance abyss. Come back in 5 years after you paid $15k to paint it, $12k for the new interior and $10k in fixing things that broke because of age an/or wear. You guys are your own worst enemy when it comes to holding up the value of what you own. Like I have said before, I’d never bring my plane here to sell. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  5. I was waiting for this PIREP. Keep us posted over the next few months. If your experience stays positive, may look for a deal at Oshkosh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. We finally had the rain move out on the east coast. Climbed on top to get above a lower layer. Clear enough to see Philly from a distance. Zoomed in to get a better look. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Amazon sells a bunch of different types. If you want one fast, Pep Boys and Autozone sell the cigar lighter type as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. You noticed! I do spend a few hours every year polishing those components. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. I use a Scosche mount. You can pick them up at Costco and Amazon. I purchased larger metal plates so it allows me to move the iPad Mini up and down on the yoke or flip it in landscape mode if I want. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. I thought I read somewhere that there is a new MVP 50 firmware out there that has really sharpened the display graphics. Or was I dreaming reading that? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  11. It also helped that guys like Don Maxwell started producing them as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  12. I wouldn’t trust what the JPI is showing either. I have seen the same low voltage with similar amp draw, yet sticking a volt meter on it shows the voltage is 13.8 - 13.9. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  13. I’m not overly impressed with my GoPro 5 Blacks. I have had a few issues with them, including using the NFlightcam cables. I have no idea why that cable won’t charge off of a cigar lighter or the PS Engineering port. I can get it charge using an external battery. I second the SD chip as a probably suspect. Also have you tried running it off of the battery without the cable attached? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Mongo yokes! The only time I miss mine is when the turbulence is bad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  15. You’d be in even more awe if you saw his fuel burn at that altitude. I flew down to Sun N Fun last year with Jerry in his JetProp. Seeing fuel flow go from close to 60 GPH to 30 GPH just due to altitude changes was amazing to see. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  17. At some point that lower cowl duct became standard on F models. I know it was discussed a lot when Guitarmaster had his Sabrecowl Gen 1 installed on his 75 F. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  18. That’s not good news. These switches were always overpriced for what they are. After seeing your post, I found the uncertified Tyco and Potter & Brumfield ones. Also saw that Honeywell makes switches. Another option would be to use the Piper rockers but that would require running a separate breaker. Man, do I wish today was April 1st. 19. I think one reason they are on the rise is there is an increasing demand for planes. Look at how many times in the past year we have answered “I’m about to get my PPL and I’m interested in Mooneys, can someone show me one?”. Mooneys have a reputation of being speed demons while being super efficient. Who wouldn’t want one? [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. Make sure you glove and mask up when you use toluene. You don’t want to end up looking like a Marauder. Any residue left can be cleaned up with a Scotch Brite pad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Frank - I am seeing modified F model prices in the same ballpark as unmodified early J models. Someone mentioned that vintage airplanes are like classic and antique cars when it comes to prices. It depends on who is buying and what they are selling. My plane is a highly modified late model F and I have 2 people who are pursuing me to sell to them. I know the offers they are tossing at me are way in excess of $80k. Tom, the E owner who sold to move up to a twin sold his highly modified E for over $100k. I think the market is finally moving towards a seller’s market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. I hope you’re joking! I know Sensata was selling them for $275 less than a year ago. If they did indeed jack up their prices, I’m tempted to yank them now and go to aviation toggle switches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. If you need an ETA, I sold my entire stash to testwest. If it is an Klixon, let me know what amperage you need. My stash of Klixon is getting low but I have a couple of duplicates left. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  24. Is it a Klixon or ETA version? Klixon on top. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  25. And BTW, the J owner you met a Latrobe told me you met. He used to be based at N57 but moved over to Chester County. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
