  1. Can you explain more on this shuttle valve? Are you talking about the valve in a dual brake system? I am having a bear of a time getting air out of my system that only has pilot side brakes.
  2. My theory is if I can't figure it out by button pushing, it is too complicated.
  3. $0 in Delaware & PA.
  4. I have the transponder in the main stack primarily because it has a user interface for TIS-B/FIS-B in addition to the transponder functions. I have a remote ident function on the yoke, so only the setting of the code is needed. Prior to the Lynx being added, I had a GT-327 that I could control both from the GTN an on it's own display. I liked that redundancy as well.
  5. The 650 will show the same stuff. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Actually 29 because I converted the PPI into an annual. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Yep, new line between reservoir and parking brake valve. Have not looked into the reservoir but will do so before the next attempt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. And if it offended them, the 0.25 hours become 0.5 hours. It's all about trust...
  9. SO... placing bets on what they will get? I'm in for 10 on snow.
  10. Well, from my untrained eyes, it looks like the temp & dewpoint at and near the surface will be below freezing. Parcel seems to be saturated with a cloud layer hovering around 1000'. Getting warmer?
  11. I think it has shown all new threads. I didn't get any notifications this morning so it may have been fixed.
  12. My PI has provided some pictures on the whereabouts of Peter Garmin. Snapped a shot of him sitting in his car outside of the BK warehouse checking the BK website. Bad news for him, the PI also snapped a picture inside of the warehouse.
  13. I think it is @Alan Fox
  14. Hmmm. Looks like it is set correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. What I am seeing is new thread notifications. I'll check out the settings. Thanks.
  16. What I have noticed is that I am getting tons of notifications for stuff I didn't sign up for. I can't find a way to shut it all off.
  17. I do miss my long time mechanic. We were in synch. He never needed to ask what I wanted to do, he just did it. If you have this level of trust, a little extra cost is not a bad thing.
  18. Alex -- having gone through 28 annuals with my plane I have seen a number of different approaches. Most shops have a flat charge for the annual inspection and then present what they declared to be airworthy and non-airworthy issues. For the "airworthy" items, you are kind of stuck. If the cost seems high, I would challenge it. Having owned the plane for 28 years, I have a pretty good sense of what it should cost. I am not talking about nickel and dime difference, but if the cost estimate is way off, I will say something. For the non-airworthy items, if they are reasonable and something I consider progressive maintenance, I will have them done. If you want to see a real nickel and dime approach, check this bill from my recent annual. You think the thing I circled in red is a Freudian slip?
  19. I’ll snap a picture of mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. I am not sure all of the vintage Mooneys have gascolators with the sump capability. I only thing I was cautioned on was that using this sump could scratch the ball bearing in it. We just rebuilt mine and the O ring is up the shaft a bit.
  21. I do fly with the lights on unless I am in the clouds at night. Then the strobes go off. So I guess it should be wired to the Nav lights and not the strobe circuit? Same for the ADS-B out light?
  22. That is the way I read the lawsuit as well. Worst case situation they uphold Garmin's patent and Uavionix gets a cease & desist on selling these. Another possibility is a licensing by Garmin that will drive up the cost.
  23. I wish I could report the end of Part Deux as a complete success. Unfortunately not. There will be a Part Trois. Part Deux has been frustrating since the solution looked like was a done deal only to have those hopes squelched. So let's see where we left our intrepid explorers at. We had successfully replaced both flexible brake lines in the wheel wells. We rebuilt the parking brake and were in the process of bleeding the system. We made an adapter for the reservoir and attempted to bleed the brakes using a vacuum system at the reservoir end. This seemed to work well but the brakes still felt a bit soft. So, we decided to push brake fluid up through the bleeder into and out of the reservoir. This too seemed to work until the point where we could not push anymore fluid through. It was like there was a hydraulic lock and to make things worse, both sides were doing this. Armed with the local shop's pressure pot and hand pump "oiler", we attempted to bleed the brakes again on Monday night. The hand pump was slowly pushing fluid into the system from the bleeder but it was not moving too fast. We repeated this with the pressure pot and although we were seeing a steady flow, we were seeing a Congo line of air bubbles coming out of the reservoir. We suspected the pressure pot and/or the bleeder valve was intermittently allowing air into the system. Part Trois will be to try another pressure pot and to replace the bleeder valves. Frustrating to say the least. Here is the picture of the Congo line of bubbles.
  24. I use a cleaned coffee can to catch it. Does your sump have a drain valve? Until recently I was using it with my GATS type jar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
