  1. The idea of a big plastic bag of O2 in my backseat would be a bit concerning. Do you really need to fly at FL240 with pets?
  2. Anyone got a line on where to get the Teflon HE1517 seals these days?
  3. In the mid 80’s friend of mine was messing around with Wally Sedgwick (50000hr WWII pilot, legendary Chicago DPE in the day). They went up to spin a C and got 2 spins and into a spiral. Burned 5000’ in the recovery. Wally said it scared him more than any event in his life including having people shoot at him. Neither of them have any idea how they got out of it. Spins are an acrobatic maneuver. Spins can lead to spirals which kill you (if you release the back pressure it is going to go to a spin in just about anything I have flown that can spin). On a 150 with a good engine you can get it to spin (weak engine it is just going to stall and roll a bit) and there is a video of one of Bill Kershner’s CFI’s spinning one down from 18000’. Planes like a Mooney aren’t going to hold the spin, you lose control authority and at that point you are along for the ride hoping an air pocket or something knocks it out. Vne and beyond comes very fast in a spiral and if you aren’t careful on the exit, off comes pieces (like the wing). In short fun maneuver in gliders, 150’s, and the like. There is a reason though why some planes shouldn’t be spun. Rolls in a Mooney are a totally different story but I wouldn’t know anything about that…..
  4. These will be available for purchase. $250 for a signature and $500 for a personalized note and signature. Cash only! PS Frames will not be provided.
  5. Automotive filter from Reddit probably minimal in aviation but in automotive filters a lot of knock offs.
  6. Grasping at straws but if you used a rag or paper towels to clean off the filter adapter could be something that got left behind. Could be a clog of some kind in the filter. I would try changing filter and see if that has an impact, really only thing I can think of.
  7. Cam/lifters and spar corrosion, everything else is relatively inexpensive to fix.
  8. I would look all over. They can get anywhere (gear well as example or in the cowling). If they are sitting on the plane pooping then they are probably building nests. Not saying you didn’t pre-flight just that the poop means they were working on nests given the time of the year. They are clever beasts.
  9. If you have bird poop I would look for nests as well especially in the tail.
  10. More than likely renting or leasing. https://www.businessinsider.com/louis-vuitton-bernard-arnault-sold-private-jet-people-tracking-twitter-2022-10
  11. The advice of personally inspecting is misguided. If you were somebody who could do that you wouldn’t be asking the question. That isn’t meant to be snarky either but when I am sick I go to a doctor. Get somebody highly competent to look at it like Maxwell or the like. Savy could be another option. They are all a great deal till it turns out they aren’t and the $20K you saved turns into $50K of expense. Nothing wrong with any airplane damage if fixed right, good luck.
  12. No matter the brand the wheels always get stuck on some small piece of FOD.
  13. If your oil pressure is normal but the temp is at levels you indicate would check the temp probe. Oil temp of 240 is going to degrade pressure.
  14. Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones.
  15. 2 more pages I know you all can do it!
  16. I was at FL250 and ATC told Delta to look for a Mooney passing 2K above them. They were confused a bit.
  17. Once they get in it is hard to keep them out. When I was outside had one get in one year. I tried all sorts of things but they are clever little beasts and they were always getting in somehow.
  18. I just push the turbo in more, leaning is for posers.
  19. Looks to have a lot of useful load.
  20. The right parts often don’t fit anymore because they were fitted with larger fittings when the original snapped out.
  21. I was going to say something but you used the verbiage “doesn’t like flying” inverted.
  22. And given 50+ years the size is the size find what fits.
