  1. Running ahead of myself here, but it would be great to see some of the panels that have been completed in a Mooney, Ive seen pictures of the 182 and the Baron.
  2. Received this today: 2017 was one of the most ambitious years here at Dynon, with the launch of Dynon Certified at Oshkosh AirVenture. As we wind down the year, we are very close to gaining our our initial certification, and we're excited to to begin deliveries and expand the Approved Model List in 2018.
  3. And my K. I was told by Dynon not to install the Dynon GPS antenna (gps receiver) when I had my interior out recently, because things could change and the STC would be a package and they wanted consistency.
  4. It's been relatively warm the last few days in the area, but that warmth came with high chinook winds. I'm hoping that cell phone ping is a good thing.
  5. Found the Form 337 paper work, not an stc and then my AME sent me a picture from the parts manual. Look like the gent doni the seat covered to holes in the seat backs with leather so I didn't see the holes to connect the seat back to the frame...problem solved. Thanks all
  6. I own a 1981 M20k and it has STC seats that allows them to recline like later models 231s and 252 had (split bucks). I recently had the interior redone by two different groups and the gent that was finishing the project never saw the seats come out and although it looks simple I dont want to speculate on the proper reassembly method. Would anyone have the stc papers or now what he proper method is. Does the toothed part of the seat just sit on the U-Hook, and I have four of these screws, do they go into the hole in the bracket below , similar to the screw in front of the toothed part bracket. I dont have the STC paperwork unfortunately.
  7. I had my tanks done by Paul five years ago and was happy with the result.  Two years ago I was flying my plane across the country when storms popped up and I go stuck in Duluth for a couple of days and ending up leaving the plan there as I had to get home for business.  It was suggested the Eric R could ferry the plane back to Calgary Alberta for me, I was happy to agree. I was at the airport when he taxed in and I noticed the belly of the airplane was black, looked like something was wrong.  The next day I went out to the airport and there was pools of oil under the airplane, pulled the dipstick and indicated maybe 3 liters.

I had given written instructions on how my plane was to be operated, which he clearly didn't use.  225 hours on TSIO360LB and all values needed replacing, two cylinders crack and new rings on all, 15k in damage.  He lucky he didn't kill himself.  A look at the data from the engine analyzer indicated over heating and running the engine at peak or close to it, not something you do in a 231.  Can I prove it...no, do I know it happened... yes.

  8. Ask for the tanks to be full as its easier to find if they are leaking, when I purchased my 231, the tanks were about 20% full, everything looked good, filled them later and you could smell the fuel, had to do a reseal.
  9. Talked to Laser, $25 each side, done.
  10. I was quoted $500 from Mooney for the landing gear, seems a little high for a couple pieces of cloth.
  11. The boots on my landing gear and the one in back for the jack screw (1981 231) are pretty beat up. I know the Beach guys have someone who makes their boots , does anyone know of a provider for our Mooneys?
  12. I just purchased a part off this gent parting out a 231 (ebay). Part came in three days and communication where good. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MOONEY-M20K-231-AIRCRAFT-LEFT-SIDE-PILOT-SEAT-ASSY-130313901-140153905AA-/271810455186?hash=item3f492a6692:g:djYAAOSw-7RVCdu4 He has a seat from the same 231.
  13. Looks better then mine, we must have had the same carpet guy, mine had glue on it as well, excellent work!
  14. Took mine out last week and polished it, it helped a bit, make sure the build still works as well.
  15. Eric do you have a link to the board on amazon?
  16. I thought and was told these three prong plug where only for starting the engine, when the battery was dead, and would not power the avionics, is this not correct, I can power the plane?
  17. Thats going to leave a scar. Had two knee surgeries over the years and two years ago I had a shoulder reconstructed. I though, ya ok I have things to do tomorrow so lets get on with it. Surgeon said I don't think you understand, this is a little different than a knee. Boy was he right, bad experience that was, I did fly maybe five months later but the pain stayed for a long time, he suggested it was because the surgery is so close to the neck. Two years later though, the per-surgery pain is gone, but it really was a long game. Ill think I will just leave the other one alone (rotator cuff on the other).
  18. Really nice paint guys. I love a quality job!
  19. I think most would say buy an airplane without it as the G1000 is part of the airplane and can not be removed. With the steam panel you can drop in what ever you please, be it a G500 or Aspen or even some of the new none certified stuff like the Skyview HDX or Garman 3x, when they get STCed. A lot more options.
  20. Dynon is no Avidyne... and I have an Avidyne stack, these guy are really the people who got this hole thing started.
  21. Somewhere they quoted there 172 project install was 40 hours.
  22. Hot off the press:
  23. The unit itself is $4500, engine monitor $850, auto pilot $500 (head unit), I read it as $16,000 installed at their own facility in Seattle. I put my name on there list just to express my interest (looking for information list), I encourage others to do so.
  24. Thats the one Ive been waiting for, Id be quite excited to be first in line.
  25. I bought this cheap cellphone suction cup holder of ebay, works greats, $3.00
