  1. So I have been reading about the difference in the GB vs the LB engine. So does the GB run way hotter than the LB? I'm concerned about that could be a deal breaker when buying the 231.
  2. Going to be getting a dashtop unit to get manly the weather. So what are yall's opinion (based on experiences, not guesses') on which one to get.
  3. I sort of shorten it to, "my discretion to xxxx". When I read back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Wow. Lots of speculation going on. Most of you are completely off the mark, some others are spot on. Privatization does not mean the government washes their hands and walks away. They regulate it and assess it constantly. If u doubt that, go look at the nuclear weapons industry. It's privatized with government oversight. This type of critical industry (aviation) will be held to tight oversight. The private side is not making millions. Their pay reward is based on good performance. Government employees could not accomplish what the private side is accomplishing with this same budget. Give it a while and see what is actually in the works before you scream gloom and doom. 5. I've been researching all the numbers and have settled on buying a 231. We will be flying into Colorado ski towns. Like some of you have said "I've never flown in one". I have over 5000 hours. Probably 2000 in turbo bonanzas and turbo 210's. Anybody near the Texas panhandle willing to go flying? I'll buy the gas and some lunch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If you get in the habit of using "gumps" every time you land, in every airplane (even fixed) you will never get confused and forget your gear. It's simple, use it every time. I have more than 5000 hours in more than a dozen aircraft. Use "grumps"...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
