  1. It is not a cute entry , wing drop , It is about a second from flying to halfway into the first spin.....Its no picnic...
  2. Ed Kolin is the best......
  3. Call Jared Bowles at Beegles Aircraft in Colorado... If they have it it will be a third of the typical salvage yards,....
  4. I just went through this , if the payout plus the salvage is more than the agreed value , they will total it.....what they do is estimate the salvage value , and subtract it from the insured value, and that is the max they will pay.......Sucks Ass......I just took 21k for a 34 K claim , but I wanted the plane , and being in the parts biz it was an easy decision.....
  5. I have some white windlace in good shape if needed...
  6. Peter Garmin can fix it with a mixture of Amalgum and Camguard........
  7. Shame on all of you , Peter Garmin did a double blind study of corrosion X on his patients amalgum fillings , and guess what ...... They all went blind......I guess it works.... Back to the original post , Lancaster Aero is doing a treatment on one of my Beeches this week .... Lets see what they charge.....
  8. I have altitude components if any interest...
  9. Ribbed verses Studded........Hmmmmmm.....
  10. Selling 106A removed for G500 upgrade , Alan 856 419 5209...
  11. Don't Mooneys have a squat switch??
  12. He said he installed it himself , so unless someone signed him off , there is no authority ,
  13. I have them listed on Barnstormers and Beechtalk for 1000 or best offer , My friend Don waited three years and payed 800 4 years ago , If any interest , just submit an offer , worst I can do is say no , or say give it a few weeks.... Regards Alan...
  14. Two things , your I.A. is required to check your gear horn and rigging (visual on the rigging) at every annual , I know mine does because I do my own annuals with him supervising , if this is not the case get a new I,A, .... Secondly as far as a camera for the gear , it is very common for folks to mount mirrors at the wingtip leading edge to be able to see if the gear is down.....On a lot of twins you can see the reflection of the gear in the spinners..... I was told that the Crash with Senator Heinz was a true tragedy as the gear was supposed to be visible in the spinners...... ( Heinz died in a midair with a Helo checking to see if the gear was down , the aircraft crashed into a schoolyard and killed children on the ground as well as the people in the aircraft) not sure if the reflection thing is true because I don't fly twins...
  15. I was under the understanding , that drag produced by lift was induced drag , and drag produced by other means (cooling , antennas , etc,) was parasitic....Please correct me if I am wrong , the flaps on the Mooney , are lift devices as opposed to drag devices...
  16. The manual gear is easy to know by feel , Place your thumbtip inbetween the upper mount and the shaft where the ramp is , When it is in and locked , it has a very distinct feel , if not locked in , too much of your thumbtip will fit in the recess , and you will know by feel it is not locked....
  17. Every time I hear somebody say you cant get it slow enough , it would fly so different , I would see this or that , the horn , the light etc etc ....I have to laugh , Do you think everybody who gears up is stupid , complacent , an idiot ????? It happens to very experienced pilots EVERYDAY.......EVERYDAY !!!!!! If that's the way you truly feel about this subject , you will never learn from the mistakes of others........From personal experience , it was something that broke me from my routine and created enough distraction that I forgot to do the checklist.......(super heavy gust in the flare initiating a go around and fell from checklist) ......
  18. About thirty times each flight after my prop go around incident , Now at least three times , two of them on final...
  19. Quite the opposite of parasitic drag , they increase induced drag , as they decrease laminar separation....and increase lift.....
  20. Its the complete picture ....They fit so many missions ....also that was 165 indicated , take it up to 8K and its 175 plus... Big roomy cabin , rugged gear , ease of maintenance.... I truly love the Mooneys that I have owned , But when I have owned both , the only reason I was flying the Mooney , was to save fuel costs....
  21. You are now a member of the C.S.O.B. club (Cheap son of a beech)...
