  1. I fly into N87 regularly for buisness and can confirm that they have a rental 201......
  2. A gps is not required so you dont need a 337 to remove it , just a log book entry...
  3. The Columbian powder takes up too much space to go rear cg......
  4. I wouldnt even think of offering before prebuy
  5. No that is not full fuel fuel payload , thats 3300 minus 2900 empty weight.... But it is truly awesome.... I think my Mooney is in the nines.... S35 Bonanza 1964......
  6. Agreed , when run over 30 hours a month , tops on these will also run close to 2300 hours also .....I think my 520 is at 1600 hours with 4 original cylinders , but I run conservative at about 65% .....
  7. So the Rocket turbo beats a non turbo .......LMFAO!!!!!
  8. Isnt your rocket a turbo...
  9. Not sure about the Cessna , but the 470 in a beech can easily do 2300 hours safely , Most have to be topped midtime , if not run regularly ..........overhauls start about 23000 for a field overhaul , if the prop makes overhaul it is about 2300 , blades and collars can get expensive.... Nice roomy with a lot of payload....
  10. Likely a probe, These fail quite often.....
  11. Scott I figure about 150 to 200 hours to be 1) profiecient as a pilot , 2) experienced enough to make a no go decision #2 being the most important , as this is usually a decision that results in disaster for the inexperienced aviator..
  12. The Mooney is a great two person airplane , If you are real tall , it might not work for you.... It is a lot different than the 172 you are flying , not so much for the gear , but you have to fly 10 to 15 miles ahead of the airplane to be where you want to be in the pattern , It takes a little experience and training to get to that level of profiency , that being said , Full fuel two adults , you can fly at 150 knots indicated 10 to 11 gallons per hour , one stop from Fla to Jersey....when you add the third person , you have to sacrifice fuel , maybe two stops depending on winds..... I transitioned into a J model at about 150 hours tt I felt comfortable , but looking back I was probably not "Really" ready until about 200 to 250 hours...... Insurance will want about 50 hours in retracts , and 25 in type.... They are really fun because of the seating position , and the rod coupled controls , Fits like a sports car ...... I would spend about a week or two on this site to familiarize with the types of planes and charachterestics with the mooneys , to make an informed decision if the Mooney fits your Mission..... They are economical , and that is a big draw for them....
  13. Excuse me sir , my Bonanza is 285 HP , and has a payload almost 1400 lbs.... Oh yea , I paid 45k for it...... Yes the mooney is quicker , burns less , smaller cabin , less payload , ... Different machines for different missions.... yes it only goes 175 kts on 15 GPH, If I want to save gas , I take my mooney....I dont believe you outran a Baron...
  14. You couldnt pay me enough to work on equipment that people poop in....
  15. I have an auto repair shop Hose' and people balk at 84 an hour......My break even is about 18000 a month in sales....That means of the first 900 a day I bill in parts and labor I make 0 dollars.......anything over that I make minus parts and supplys......3500 rent , insurance , phones , advertising , labor , tools , data service, credit card processing , paper , etc etc.....I fix it right the first time , I charge a fair rate , I dont put on customer supplied parts.... I sell parts at a profit to earn a living.... And Ive been in buisness 20 years and always have work.... Go Figure....
  16. I stand corrected , I thought they all had 520s
  17. Just the fact that you have that makes your wife a "Keeper"......... So jealous....
  18. Had a B model for years , Great plane....the only drawback is the MGTOW is 2450 , and most stc's are for c models on up.....rudder travel is light compared to the C , can be upgraded with a bellcrank from a yard (about a hundred dollars) 24 K is not a bad value..... Pay close attn to the corrosion on the cage as the older mooneys are not epoxycoated.....make sure the gear has been converted to the lord stacks , 4 mains 3 nose , ......
  19. It cant be as the pulley on the pp has a much larger diameter...although the mounting seems to be different....
  20. I had a remote Ident switch on my B model.....
  21. There is or was a company called Kosala that reworks the mounts....http://www.kosola.com/main.htm
  22. Put a pp on my old mousketeer , great product.... Havent put one on the Bonanza , as the Bo has a geared alternator that has no issues..... My mooney has the interav conversion , if it fails it gets a pp...
  23. 210s run IO520 continentals , it probably burns 15 an hour at 60% at 150 KTIAS ...... Complex gear system , still has wing struts..... If it makes prepurchase , 36K is all the money , Is he leaving the tray in for the gps , what model gps.... Could be a deal breaker......
  24. The remaining 169 is for someone to come out to your house , travel time ,a yellow pages ad, a trip to home depot , insurance , cleaning supplies , gas , and the actual repair..... Just because we can do it ourselves , dont begrudge someone else the right to earn a living...... Think about it the whole thing is a three hour job , if he spends an hour at the house thats 56 dollars an hour , minus expenses.... When you think about it , its actually not a bad price...
