  1. Should show in the logs. Have you checked yet? Not on my K.
  2. Looks like something special! Was your aircraft the first or last of something cool? Did something big happen at the factory when your Mooney was completed? Looks like too much effort without a cool connection. May be worth contacting the factory. Can't wait for the answer! Very Cool!
  3. I have to go buy some beer. I don't need the stress caused by this thread!
  4. Looks like the seller cancelled bids and ended auction.
  5. I used the roller style for my generation 1 ipad for over 3 years without any issues. I have a ram mini mount waiting for my mini retina to be delivered. Had good luck with gpscity.com for mounts and also Gopro camera mounts. http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-apple-ipad-mini-clamp-mount-ram-b-121-ap14u.html
  6. Looks like they may use flightaware to "pad" their list of troublemakers to make their point stronger or to build up a history for a later agenda!
  7. Thanks for sharing this promotion! I am waiting for the mini 2 and planned to pass my Ipad Generation 1 over to my wife. Since the Mini 2 is only a couple more weeks out, this promo allows us to get things going a little sooner. We are trading my Gen1 for a Ipad retina display model for my wife. The cost ends up being $210 to upgrade. I then will buy the Mini 2 when it comes out at the end of the month. I had the Ipad on the co-pilot yoke for the last few years and decided to convert to the Mini so I can have it on the pilot yoke. Better solution for instrument flying!
  8. Did all jumpers head crosswind and then fall downwind?
  9. Yes amazing! Also the other pilot, getting all the jumpers out and then landing. I can not think of any higher work load! Fly the plane, fly the plane...fly the plane. Well done by all involved!

I also saw the pic, did a triple take, thought it was me!
  11. I'll tell you, Foreflight keeps listening to their customers and are thinking all the time! Very nice feature!
  12. Proper passenger briefing...check! Think about the same event with a passenger that had no knowledge to use the radio and communicate. Glad the plane was landed safely!
  13. Larry, you can search some threads here on Mooneyspace. They made the propane models for a short time and stopped. Interesting market, looks like not many available, but when people sell, they go for low money. A little strange, but interesting trend. No longer available new. Rocketman, I would be more worried about gas, than a small propane tank. I like folding bikes, however the wheels are too large and the folded volume is also large. Would rather have a bike if it had small wheels and folded real tight!
  14. Anybody have a Pro-Ped scooter that they would like to sell? Looking to buy one! Thanks!
  15. Looks like they were landing down hill on 21?? Unfamiliar with the aircraft (on vacation in a rental Mooney) and also airport (Must land going up hill at Sedona) Had to go around because they could not stop? No NTSB or FAA investigation, UNBELIEVABLE!
  16. Or will the "real" Mooney's increase because know one wants "cheap Chinese Junk" ?? We all saw the Chinese purchase coming!
  17. Did you request "No Overwater"? Yes, Chicago is interesting. My IFR 35 min flight to OSH took an extra hour! Even IFR, Chicago will vector the heck out of us little guys.

  19. I had ground school with Cleon Biter, but then got weathered out for too many days and had to leave the area. But, I will travel from Chicago to fly the mountains with him! He also knows the Mooney very well! Located in Longmont, CO.
  20. I finished up my IFR in Waterloo IA. Call Livingston Aviation and ask for Scott. He does a lot of accelerated instruction. While I was doing my IFR, he had a student from Texas there for 10 days for her CFI and CFII. I think she was done with both in 8 days. The personality and expectations of the local examiner are very close to Scott's. That helps a lot and will reduce stresses during your check ride. I will go back for an accelerated Commercial. Also their rate is a little below market. Sorry, the above info was posted and I missed ground school. But think I should leave it to help with your next step.
  21. Not big on math here. I keep it simple, keep an eye on boats and head to one if you have trouble while in the middle of the "Big Pond". Large boats have, First Aid, communication's, raft's and many people to help. Just don your vest early and keep it on till you are over land. Something to think about: I was going from KALO to KLWA at 17.5. At 65 miles shore to shore, I figured that I would be out of glide for about 2 min, in the middle. But had a good tail wind and had a 180+ kt ground speed then 220 kt in descend. It dawned on me that I was out of glide from almost my entire descend that was about 45 miles. In this case, I figured that I would turn around for the first 3-4 min of descend, then head for a big boat for the rest. You can see my Flightaware log, of N231PZ, from June 13 for details of this example.
  22. Hey Daly, I will give you a ride if your wife lets us use Meigs again! Don, as they say, you don't need a chute to sky dive for the first time, just need one to go the second time. Thanks everyone, It looks I am in good shape on this small shuttle ride.
  23. Are you talking about:.?? © A private pilot (that's me!) may not pay less (I don't want to pay less, is more ok?) than the pro rata share of the operating expenses of a flight with passengers, provided the expenses involve only fuel, oil, airport expenditures, or rental fees. Just goofing off! Ok, I will pay 50% and my company has a program that will make a matching contribution to a charity of choice. My company considers privately managed educational funds a charity. FYI, I am self employed. If you are able to help, please send me a PM with contact info. Better not to post my number here due to spam in the past. Thanks!
  24. Could use some help getting from KALO to KDPA tomorrow night. To pick up Papa Zulu. Anyone heading in the direction? I will cover all fuel. Thanks!
  25. CAMP UNDER THE WING!
