    @OSUAV8TER My 97 J has this red beacon light on the belly. All the LED lights I have found look like the size and shape of a soup can. Are there any LEDs that are more streamlined to replace this light?

    When I was unable to attend in Santa Maria a few years ago due to weather I was able to later attend in Denver. This is a top notch organization that will work with you in a completely fair and open manner

    I have attended 9 of these and plan to go to Santa Maria in April. I recall hearing the biggest expense is insurance and expect the instructors travel expenses are reimbursed

    I bought N1084L (‘97 J) in 2005. It had been in Florida for a couple of years. During the 2011 annual LASAR found similar corrosion. It was an unwelcome additional expense but not disastrous.

    How about the the map lights in the yoke. Same bulb?

    The maintenance manual shows GE 1818 as stock interior bulbs, which have a BA9S base. This bulb is a different base? Just want to make sure I order correct LED replacements. Are the overhead lights the same bulb?

    @V1VRV2 is the glareshield compass mount a factory installation? I’d love to move the compass off the center tube where it vibrates like h*ll.

    I had a partner like that a long time ago. Even better, most of his flying was to fly the airplane to the shop for maintenance. Great partner

    I perfected that one by doing it on the coordinated start up at Madison for a Mooney Caravan formation flight

    The remedy for that is to have one of the Oshkosh departure flaggers see the cover and let you know

    2 instrument approaches & a hold in actual. Only time the sun appeared all day. The airport beacon is I inoperable but the marijuana grow lights are a great substitute

    The J is barely tolerable but I don’t fly more than 1.5 hours. Try putting new conforfoam in the seat cushion. I flew 12 hours (3 legs) coming back from KOSH this year. I was ready to get out of the airplane but it was tolerable
