  1. So she was nude from the waist down, no shoes, not a scratch on her, and her boy friend or husband bought that story? HA!!
  2. Gotta check your W&B....great flight.
  3. But getting to the controls is a bit of a challenge
  4. Flying is neither for the timid nor for those prone to jumping to rash conclusions.....This accident is sad, not frustrating, and we can all learn from it. Balance in everything, especially go-no go risk decisions. Just because you beat the odds the last 99 times is no reason to feel comfortable you'll get away with it next time. "Take nothing for granted; do not jump to conclusions; follow every possible clue to the extent of usefulness . . . . Apply the principle that there is no limit to the amount of effort justified to prevent the recurrence of one aircraft accident or the loss of one life." ~ Accident Investigation Manual of the U.S. Air Force.
  5. First for the Navy and shortly thereafter for the Air Force. We got an internal nose gun, finally, with the F-4E. Through the 50's and most of the 60's old bomber (SAC) generals were running the Air Force. They never grasped tactical air combat and viewed fighters as only a tool to protect their bombers. So they eliminated our dog fighting guns and training in favor of stand off missiles. A big mistake that cost too many good men attempting to dog fight with missiles not designed or suited for close in tactical fighting. IMNSHO Curtiss LeMay did the USA no favor.
  6. Dumb, dumber, dumbest.... The passengers are suing, the model is suing (FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT ), and the former pilots are in truck driving school.
  7. I attended Air Force Fighter Weapons School back in the '70's, and I assure you there was very little reality in the Top Gun portrayal of training. 'Maverick' would have wound up a supply officer in Diego Garcia, at best, for pulling any of those those shenanigans. Actually his characterization was of a self obsessed loser. Also consider that F-4 stick and rudder flying back then was much less computer dependent than these days, and there was a lot less micro management from the ground to the cockpit. The good ol' days. Still some great flying sequels and a wonderful soundtrack in that movie. Good luck with any Top Gun II.
  8. Another terrible crash, this time a Bonanza, near Boston. Three dead....RIP. Please invest in regular serious recurrency training my friends. Plane crashes into home in Massachusetts, killing 3 aboard; residents escape Associated Press Published June 28, 2015 A small plane crashed into a house Sunday evening, killing three people on board, police said, but residents managed to flee as fire engulfed the home. The Beechcraft BE36 aircraft crashed into the house at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, said Jim Peters of the Federal Aviation Administration. It had taken off from Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania and was headed to Norwood Memorial Airport in Massachusetts. Fire crews extinguished the blaze nearly three hours after the crash in Plainville, about 30 miles southwest of Boston, said Massachusetts State Police spokesman Dave Procopio. He said the residents escaped and preliminary reports show three people in the plane were killed. The plane wound up behind the two-story colonial, where a section of the tail and a charred wing rested on a hillside in the yard. Neighbors reported hearing something amiss as the plane flew over their homes. Mike Brown tells The Sun Chronicle he was outside barbecuing when he heard the plane, looked up and saw it start to bank. He said the engine sounded like it was sputtering and then heard a crash and saw smoke. The NTSB is expected to arrive at the crash site Monday. The identities of the dead won't be released until the NTSB has notified their families, Peters said.
  9. No doubt where you developed a taste for sweat hogs.
  10. Not as sweet as the red, white and blue of the Thunderbirds. IIRC someone did just that on a Mooney about 15 years ago. Trust it wasn't our recent troll
  11. That same issue of Aviation Consumer also has a very informative four page story on the new Mooney company and where it is headed.
  12. My Lord, this guy is either a teenage troll, on some serious medication, or the hot nitrogen he's full of has infected his thought process. Absolutely no way he's a field grade USAF officer. Just his claims embarrass the Air Force. Very very odd. If, on the off chance, he is what he claims, he's got serious physiological issues. Sorry guys. Anyway Michelin Air Stop tubes have been wonderful on my previous J for 15 years and I suspect the issue for the OP was a valve that slipped and wasn't centered. Nitrogen fills really hold pressure better in low profile, high performance, auto tires for me.
  13. Compared to the women Chris seems to favor, the girl I posted is downright skinny. When they walk, they show up on my stormscope.
  14. Chris lights up my Strikefinder all the time
  15. Just in another guise
  16. Noted, and a fine report it was. Now we're about an inch away from hearing from Holocaust deniers.
  17. Just as England and France, thus Canada, stayed free due to the USA investment in $ and lives through the 20th Century. Your country is still shielded by your neighbor to the south. Israel (the only democracy in the Middle East) can, and probably will have to, do just fine on their own. What nonsense...but this is an aviation forum.
  18. By then Iran will have nukes, and both GA and climate change will be the least of his worries.
  19. Nightmares only! You will need a VERY wide angle lens for that panoramic picture, and please don't post it here.
  20. A good sheet metal guy will fix that door to like new condition. I suggest this is your best option. After all is said and done, remember that these planes are hand fitted, and finding a used door or even a new factory door that fits as well as the one one your plane will be a real challenge. Good luck.
  21. Trying to program those new wiz bang, do everything GPS's while double checking their iPads at the same time. Sad.
  22. Not to worry....somebody obviously doesn't know Porsche maintenance history. Yes, even Cheap Ba$tards drive great sports cars.
