    Yes. It's best to reduce the throttle to prevent overspend on restart, but not to Idle/Cut Off.

    Happened to me yesterday. Check your email, I had one telling me that my previous donation was 12 months ago and I needed to re-up. The ads disappeared almost immediately!

    That was @piperpainter, in his red C. He now has a more appropriate tailwheel plane with tundra tires, last I heard. That's what I thought as a new owner, admiring a set of chrome wheel covers to aid in visibility. But I was discouraged from buying them by my IA, something about heat buildup and difficulty to inspect the bearings.

    My C generally peaks ~1450°F, depending on conditions.

    There's a mil spec for everything. C Rarions (predecessor to MREs) used to include cigarettes and matches with the (alleged) food. And fire tablets.

    I've heard of this for leaning in cruise, but never for high power like a high DA takeoff. In thise situations, I lean for max RPM at WOT / Full Prop. But I haven't had to do it often, or even in the last 10-12 years. Best practices may well have improved since my last time.

    My Owners Manual says to turn on the landing light and watch the ammeter needle wiggle as part of the Post-Engine Start checklist. Proves that the meter still works. Best thing to do is test it while the prop is off. Check your field wire, too--mine just broke, thankfully in VFR conditions.

    Because Craig owns and runs Mooneyspace as a hobby, and he's the only administrator. There are a few mods, but only admins can do this; he is not willing to create new admins, as they can also erase the whole site . . . . I'm not an IT type, so I can't buy it and do any better. Not that I've heard it's for sale!

    Me, too. Sadly the Dynon folks left us out in the cold, roo. I'd love a Skyview panel ans AP, but apparently it can't be . . . So I'm left cheering for whoever finishes up their blasted AP first. And if it's Dynon, they'll sell a full panel, too. Otherwise my steam gages will soldier on.

    When hand tapping, I always preferred a tapered tap, followed by a bottoming tap for blind holes. With helicoils or other threaded inserts provided by equipment OEMs, I generally used what they sent for installation.

    When my tanks were stripped and resealed (52 gal), I was billed for 52.4 gallons. Both were up to the caps when I checked. Some variation is to be expected, especially if the tabs are welded in during tank neck construction. (My C has no tabs.)

    Carve a new one from a piece of hardwood, and drill it to fit the switch. There's nothing fancy about making a round thingy to move the switch. If it has to be white, use holly. Worst comes to worst, I'll carve one from some hollyni have, and you tell me the OD of the switch to drill the hole. Hey, wait--that counts as Owner Produced, since you're either specifying the hole or finishing it yourself . . .
