  1. I have a K and I like the fact that I can (if necessary or preffered) go up high over a bunch of traffic and a bunch of weather. But a J will perform right with a K up to 6,000 to 8,000 feet, and will do anything you need in your mission. I personally, do not think the maintenance or complexity of a turbo over a non-turbo is very signifance, is a deal breaker. If you are near the top of your budget, get a J. If not, a K is nice.
  2. Just a crazy idea. I might glue a larger tab onto the stall warning tab temporarily, and fly it, with extreme variations in the tab angle. You might be able to figure out if the tab is very much out of place, and which direction.

  4. I am still making visors. I am temporarily out of stock, but that condition should not exist for more than a couple of weeks. As to the E, I am not sure. If yours mount in the upper outside corners of the windscreen, mine fit, if not, no. Thanks for the kind words Ziggy.
  5. I bought one that looks very similar a year or so ago. I never had a run down car battery to try it on. Now, it refuses to charge up. What is everyone's experience with these? Life expectancy? How well they work for jump-starting? etc.?
  6. The Infinity Event Center is at the Holiday Day Inn, at 300 Tuttle Circle, Longview, Texas, 903-663-6464. Just call, tell them MooneyMax, and you are good to go.
  7. Jan, The thing I keep missing is the accommodations info. I know it is at the Infinity Event Center. Do they have a block of rooms; and a special rate for us special people?
  8. I have always worried about any manufacturer saying their product will tow a particular number. What surface, tire pressure, and most importantly, slope are probably much more important factors.
  9. Generally, the ignition key is not the same as the identical door /baggage keys.
  10. 1. Call a locksmith, pay big bucks and let him figure it out. 2. (a) Remove the door cylinder, take to to a locksmith, get keys at reasonable cost. (b) Remove the ignition switch and repeat. Wish you hadn't, as it is a pain. 3. Take it by your MSC and let him sort it out. Should work well, and cost depends on which MSC. 4. Call a half dozen of your Mooney buddies and try all their keys. High odds one or more will work. Have copies made of the one that works best.
  11. Cutting down shades would be a lot of trouble. Probably easier to just build a new one.
  12. Heresy! Get out the torches and pitchforks. Incidentally, I plan on having a few sets available at Mooneymax in June. If anyone wants a set of "owner produced" visors to pick up there, you need to send me the specs you wish me to use in turning them out.
  13. Yes, Visors By Muncy is still in operation. Mine are not STCed. They are either "a hangar elf project", a minor modification, or can be an owner produced part if so desired.
  14. Do what we all do. Take the close expensive one. Put the hangar rent on autopay, and pretend you don't remember the cost. You will be happy every time you go to the hangar.
  15. My experience has many similarities to yours. I bought my 231 from Jimmy (and David at that time.) Now years later, I consider Jimmy a friend, as well as the most knowledgeable Mooney value person anywhere.
  16. Replacing speed-brakes is definitely not on the list of owner allowed preventive maintenance, but not beyond the capabilities of a decent hangar elf.
  17. It is worth a try. Thanks. I will be glad to pay shipping. Let me know how much, how to pay, Paypal, zelle, check? Where to send it, etc. Don
