  1. After a good charge (flight or charger), disconnect a battery cable. After 3 or 4 days reconnect and try to start it again. If no start, replace the battery. If it starts fine, go to the other possibilities.
  2. So my visors would fit, and one would only be stuck working out how to cover the hole for the existing ones.
  3. I would be interested in seeing photos of the attachment points in the later model planes.
  4. Do you know if that is because the mounting position is different than earlier models, or is it just that they interfere with the switches, or some other reason?
  5. I like Wolfgang Langewiesche's explanation best. (I may be praphrasing) "Airplanes go up by pushing air down."
  6. The total effect of that explanation makes my understanding worse.
  7. I keep mine on a Battery Minder in my hangar, but not "on the road"
  8. I wound up landing at Wiley Post. I used Jet Set FBO. They were very nice, charged no fees, and had relatively decent fuel prices. The idiot pilot of my plane left the master switch on for 2 days and thus a very depleted battery. The maintenance shop at Jet Set jumped my battery and got me in the air, refusing to take any payment or gratuity. I reccommend them.
  9. Be careful at Lowes or Home Depot. They generally have only 1/4 x 24 rather than 1/4 x 28 required.
  10. Did I mention, it has to have air conditioned space to wait around for a ride.
  11. I'm planning to fly to OC for a couple of days. What are the locals preferences for GA friendy, ease of getting into, no fees, etc. Cheap fuel a +, but not a deal breaker.
  12. I am 5' 8" and relatively slender. My plane came to me with 1 1/2 pedal extensions and my hangar elf converted them to 3 ". It makes a lot of difference.
  13. Unfortunately, I have not developed visors for a "C". I have tinkered a little with the concept, but the difference in mounting a visor in the center and on the side is large. If you only want a visor that will tilt up and down, or one with a greater surface area, it would be fairly easy, but if you want a fully articulating visor that will deflect the sun from the side, it is pretty tough. I will continue (slowly) to see if I can come up with something.
  14. The alternate air door on my 231 has decided to remain open. There appears to be a little friction when it gets almost closed, and the cable (wire) can't push it shut. I am tempted to ask my hangar elf to attach a magnetic device to assist in holding it shut, as I understand some models have. Any ideas.
  15. I have a K and I like the fact that I can (if necessary or preffered) go up high over a bunch of traffic and a bunch of weather. But a J will perform right with a K up to 6,000 to 8,000 feet, and will do anything you need in your mission. I personally, do not think the maintenance or complexity of a turbo over a non-turbo is very signifance, is a deal breaker. If you are near the top of your budget, get a J. If not, a K is nice.
  16. Just a crazy idea. I might glue a larger tab onto the stall warning tab temporarily, and fly it, with extreme variations in the tab angle. You might be able to figure out if the tab is very much out of place, and which direction.

  18. I am still making visors. I am temporarily out of stock, but that condition should not exist for more than a couple of weeks. As to the E, I am not sure. If yours mount in the upper outside corners of the windscreen, mine fit, if not, no. Thanks for the kind words Ziggy.
  19. I bought one that looks very similar a year or so ago. I never had a run down car battery to try it on. Now, it refuses to charge up. What is everyone's experience with these? Life expectancy? How well they work for jump-starting? etc.?
  20. The Infinity Event Center is at the Holiday Day Inn, at 300 Tuttle Circle, Longview, Texas, 903-663-6464. Just call, tell them MooneyMax, and you are good to go.
  21. Jan, The thing I keep missing is the accommodations info. I know it is at the Infinity Event Center. Do they have a block of rooms; and a special rate for us special people?
  22. I have always worried about any manufacturer saying their product will tow a particular number. What surface, tire pressure, and most importantly, slope are probably much more important factors.
