  1. I heard about an Ovation owner at my home airport looking to sell as he wants to buy a Meridian or Malibu or something. If you want, I can look into it for you. It's a N reg and is apparently a great plane. Garmin 1000 WAAS and FIKI. Not too sure about much else, but I'm happy to ask him...
  2. Now that I think about it, he probably meant $200-300 per hour, giving $20-30K per year, assuming 100h of flight/year...
  3. I thought he said 20-30K fixed costs, plus 200-300 per hour.... Those seem like my numbers and not what you guys in the US pay...
  4. I had to replace my pitot tube last year as it was leaking. Something to do with the pitot heat...?? It was easy to spot once they took the pitot tube out. Yours doesn't sound that easy. $2700 is about $1000 less than I paid, before shipping to Switzerland.
  5. Talk to @EricJ! He can tell you how to go inverted in a Mooney...
  6. Actually @Ragsf15e did start one. We should combine them, if possible, so there is only one. This is my favourite thread. I love to see what everyone is up to...
  7. If I route the way I root, I'll just slow Becca down. Better for her to stay rooted in her own routine
  8. Yeah Becca! I'm routing for you!!
  9. Mine is set to on.
  10. Oh. Oops. Thanks. In that case, select Logbook from the More menu....
  11. If you tap Logbook at the bottom menu (bottom right, next to More) of your iPad, you will see a column on the left with all your flights. If the flight is not in your Logbook, underneath the flight you will see "Data from ForeFlight Track Log" in magenta. Tap on the flight and on the right you will see the flight with Delete or Approve. Tap Approve and the flight will be added to your Logbook. After you upload (download?) all the flights to your logbook, FF will give you the Recap in the Web version.
  12. Here's mine...
  13. No. No, no, no, NO. Do not leave Mooneyspace. Please! Your experience and expertise are invaluable. Unfortunately Clarence left before I was able to forbid it I won't miss this opportunity.
  14. Here in Switzerland, all Swiss aircraft have HB-something. All Mooneys have HB-Dsomething (I am HB-DFA). There is one Mooney based at a different airport that I have to admit, I would never buy/fly.... HB-DIE
  15. I was in the air once with N8888. The French controllers never got it right once. Even the pilots stumbled a few times. I looked it up when I landed and it was a private jet. I was wondering why they didn't do something to make it easier like triple8-8.
  16. @Joshua Blackh4t (in Australia) @201Steve (his business is transporting wide loads)
  17. Well.... spoiler (and hint in case anyone needs it)... you're in it
  18. I don't know! One person PM'd me for a hint. I have no idea if it was too easy or cryptic, or if everyone thought it was fun or dumb. Did you do it?
  19. For this year's New Year's Eve, I made a little crossword puzzle for you guys to solve. Anyway, thanks for all the support and fun this year. I wish you all a wonderful new year Oh... and I also wrote another poem... *ahem* It's come and gone, this year we've shared With all the goods and bads And even though we lost some greats We welcomed great new add's It's over now, this year we've had With all the bads and goods Discussed a bunch tech-ni-cal stuff And flying under hoods As the year dies down, I hope for all Safe flights and lots of fun May you stay aloft with turning props And engines that always run MS Crossword.pdf
  20. This is the part that confuses me. It seems like too much of a coincidence that the boost pump fails and the pressure is in the red at the same time. My shop opens again on Tuesday. I'll have them take a look and let you all know what they find. Maybe it is two separate issues.
  21. It made a very tiny effort (I could barely hear it) before going quiet. The fuel pressure gauge didn't even twitch. After running the engine for 10-15 minutes, I taxied back and shut down. I tried the boost pump again and heard a tiny little whirl, then nothing. When I tried again a few minutes later, complete silence. The circuit breaker remained in the whole time. It was the sound of a motor dying IMHO.
  22. Ohh, interesting! I didn't notice anything. Maybe I'll go look in the hangar tomorrow. It's been raining all day, so any evidence left on the apron will be gone.
  23. No. Nor did I think to do a runup. Once the weather improves, maybe I'll go do both. But the boost pump really sounded like it died on the spot. I have a feeling it will need to be overhauled or replaced.
