Chocks once. Also once I couldn't close a fuel tank cap cleanly while holding the fuel pump. I just put it on top, covering the hole and forgot about it. I noticed it during the "controls free and correct" check on the taxiway. Luckily no one was behind me, so I could shut down and get out to close it.

So pretty! I had planned my last long flight for this year to be Figari on the south of Corsica, but decided to cancel due to a leaky prop that was splashing the windshield with oil. I'm hoping to make it to Rouen next year. Maybe we could even meet some day

I flew to Courchevel airport with a friend of mine today in his C150. It's nuts. The runway length is 1762 feet and has an 18.6% incline after the first 25 yards or so. You need training and certification to land there and my friend's was due to expire in a few days, so we went for two landings and a coffee. He promised to take me in my Mooney once I get the propeller back, so I'm a bit nervous, but excited. Anyway, check this out: (Runway is to the left, sloping up the hill...) Here it is cropped....

I have this. My prop will be sent in for the six-year overhaul in January. I have an MT propeller. Can I still fly 10-15 hours before January?

Yesterday I flew to Augsburg, outside of Munich. There were many firsts for me. The first first was the NOTAM for Augsburg (EDMA) stating that overflight is prohibited due to bomb disposal (exhibit A). The second first was getting the call, "free of storks" on climb out. At my home airport, we have an offset approach due to a stork sanctuary. Yesterday there were at least three of these flocks circling next to the runway and possibly directly over and around the grass runway. The photo is the best I could do from the taxiway. I counted about 70 in that flock, so there were at least 250-300 storks total flying in our airspace (exhibit B). The third first was this factory I saw in Germany in the middle of the forest. Maybe @MatthiasArnold knows what it is. Strange location; hundreds of employees (exhibit C). I had a fourth first, but I can't remember what it was. Anyway... interesting day!

I flew up to Rotterdam where the street art is off the charts. The biggest challenge of Rotterdam is pop-up thunderstorm cells. I studied the weather, and studied and studied. Everything said stable weather the whole time. Then the morning of departure, boom! Pop-up thunderstorms at both ends of the runway. Luckily they disappeared as quickly as they came, so it's wasn't a big deal. Hi all, I've gone back to lurking these past few months due to a problem with losing GPS signal since the annual in January, which seriously cramped my flying (and my general mood). But I'm happy to say that the cause of the problem has been identified and is no longer an issue So now I'm off on an adventure with the legend himself, @kortopates... I'm so very stoked! Yesterday we flew via Lyon, France to Brugge, Belgium. Today we made the trek across the English Channel and southern England (one photo shows the white cliffs of Dover) to St. Mary's Scilly island with a fuel stop at Land's End. The guy in St. Mary's tower let us do a tour of the Scilly islands before landing on RWY 14 which is 695 meters long (2280 feet). Tonight we will decide where to go next. So awesome!!

Aha. I didn't see Charleroi. I just went to Brussels, which was a long, expensive taxi ride.

I have one controller over Zurich airspace that forces me to roll my r and say tree rather than three. After repeating the frequency 130.560 in my American accent, she will come back and say, "Hotel Foxtrot Alpha, one TDEE zedo" forcing me to say it back that way With all the US aircraft landing there, you'd think she'd be used to it, but I am Swiss, with a Swiss reg, so follow the rules I must.

I usually say "confirm" rather than "say intentions." For example, in this scenario, "confirm heading 040 to intercept ILS runway 06."

Someone once told me that when people realise that they've touched down with the gear up, they suddenly try to extend the gear, causing more damage than a clean gear-up. Maybe that's what happened here.
