  1. 1988 MOONEY M20K 252TSE Controller.com This one fits your mission and budget and will put a smile on your face. R2
  2. Has anyone ever come across this? I understood cowl flaps went electric in 1988. This definitely a ‘94 but has manual control. Maybe it should be named Rare Bird. R2
  3. I retired June of ‘20 and I felt pretty good about that decision then.
  4. Ain’t that the truth. Market slide hasn’t helped either.
  5. I quit flying in my working years and now that I’m getting current again, I needed to get the medical taken care of. I saw my AME on 12/20/21 but due to sleep apnea, a deferment was guaranteed. My Class III was issued 10/13/22 with an expiration date of 12/31/2022, a lousy 10 weeks! Luckily, my AME will be able to do my renewals as long as I bring him the appropriate info from my sleep doc yearly. Time to do it again, but at least that initial recertification hurdle has been crossed. And, after 31 years, 11 months and 16 days, my butt was back in the left seat! The struggle was worth it. R2
  6. Sure wish I had known about that service.
  7. Ouch. Sorry to hear.
  8. Spent plenty of time in the shooting gallery getting rid of B tickets.
  9. Gary, I hope you’re not in a hurry. My SI application went in on Jan 8, 2022 and I was told it would take up to three months. I finally got mine just before Halloween, over 9 1/2 months later. The real bummer is the clock starts at your exam date, so my medical expires December of this year. The good news is that renewals can be done by your AME at the time of your visit. Good luck!
  10. That’s pretty slick, but holy smokes those cables are expensive!
  11. Great stuff! Used it for years.
  12. Here’s some more info on the Gladys Ingle stunt. https://travelupdate.com/gladys-ingle-repairing-plane-video/ R2
  13. That would be an interesting dumpster diving party. R2
  14. I swear by these mouse rollers. https://www.amazon.com/Adad-trap-Rolling-Transparent-Bucket-Roller/dp/B07ZPCW6QS/ref=asc_df_B07ZPCW6QS/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=533225162126&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4536755733881263637&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010866&hvtargid=pla-1575180349192&psc=1 I keep one in my garage and they work extremely well. Before getting one, we had mice in all of our vehicles. Non-toxic and you never have to check it. Your nose will let you know when someone failed their swimming test. R2
  15. I’m pretty certain that’s Trevor Jacob’s great grandfather.
  16. Anthony, Thanks, that’s a great point. R2
  17. Neither. Very difficult to stomach the prices being paid right now. Also no hangers anywhere around here. KCNI has a 10-15 year wait. There’s a 252 in TX I keep looking at but at $175… R2
  18. Looking at their site, the J is listed for retrofit, non-FIKI. https://www.cav-systems.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/TKS-Mooney-M20-Specification-2019-2.pdf R2
  19. 2022 Goal… Get my butt back in the left seat after a 30 year hiatus. Unfortunately, the recent meteoric rise in prices will most likely have me handling over my credit card to the FBO each time I want to fly. R2
  20. I also chased this one for a VERY short time. The lack of flying was a huge red flag to me. I figured the motor to be toast after sitting unused for so long but they’re still asking retail money. It was originally listed at 130, but quickly dropped it 10k. I guess I wasn’t the only one skeptical. Price is way to high to accept all of the unknowns. It would be a great project plane for an A&P since it will probably need a very thorough going over.
  21. Nicely done!
  22. That motor will be fine!!! Just a couple squirts of MMO in each cylinder to free up the rings and it will be good as new. R2
  23. Dang high school kids! R2
  24. Looks like it’s been sitting in the Keys since at least 1999. I’ve had one corroded plane from Florida and that’s enough for me. R2
