  1. There is nothing like history and looking back that doesn’t make the heart weak. looking forward to the stories!
  2. Howard only had a Masters’ degree from MIT. The rest were PhD’s. My sister and brother in law are both PhD grads from Caltech in the mid 90’s. Her being Canadian, and the brother in law a Princeton undergrad, it was fate that they met at grad school. My sister is very outgoing and more “Street smart”. My brother in law is the book worm, questioning and by the book. to this day, I still swear that Sheldon and Leonard were modelled after my Sis and Bro in Law.
  3. Every time I see these, it reminds me of the way my ex used to look like on her back.
  4. I just did clear all the way around in my F 1/4” for the front, pilot and door. 3/16” for the rest. The rear windows were supposed to be tinted, but GLAP sent me the clear by mistake. I’ll add tint later when I get some spare time. Of note- if you’re going thicker, make sure you have R10 screws as the old ones will be too short.
  5. Reading this made me tear up.... It’s like Bob completed his mission to find the perfect “Forever Home” for his beautiful aircraft, then upgraded his wings to his own Forever set. As everyone has said, treat her well, fly her often. And when you’re flying solo, there’s no doubt you’ll have Bob there in the right seat with you. Safe travels, and hoping to see both of you at Oshkosh sometime soon.
  6. If you search Mooney M22 in the Canadian Aircraft Registry, it comes up as blank.
  7. FWIW. Here’s what I sent them with my 74F. Out of my POH
  8. So, why is the Ground apologizing to him on the phone at the end? That's the part I can't comprehend?
  9. Power Boost - CLOSED
  10. Trying to extinguish the inflight fire perhaps? lost track of what altitude they were at?
  11. And also rids your engine of foot fungus.
  12. Best access I’ve seen so far is a friend who installed a flush mount iPad dock into his panel. When he does work on the panel, he removes the dock and has fabulous access
  13. FWIW: 1- it’s in Edmonton, not Quebec 2- it’s been listed in Kijiji for months now, and was listed for parts prior to that (mostly panel replacement, although I can’t see any upgrades on the panel from the previous posts) He hasn’t budged from the $100 AMU price since he first posted.
  14. Probably because those are the old windows, and about 15 minutes before I found out they sent the wrong ones. they have a green tint to them. the new ones are the “IFR Certified” windows with the paper still on them.
  15. So, finally managed to wrestle my AME away from other personal commitments, and began installing my new windows from GLAP. Two hours in, and we had the front, pilot and door windows off. After having to disappear for some work commitments, I came back and helped with the remainder of the back windows. That’s when I noticed the unfortunate..... the rear “tinted” windows were shipped to me clear! Aside from the $140 overcharge that I now need to recoup, I now have all clear glass throughout the aircraft. Question is: Has anyone tried tinting windows after installation? Wondering if this will be worth the trouble? I discovered the mistake 10 minutes after GLAP closed today, which means I can’t discuss how long it’ll take to send me the proper windows (original estimate On the primary order was 8 business days), and I don’t want to wait until Monday to find out. So, the clear windows are going in. If it’s like car window tinting, will I get a ticket from an overbearing Cop? (JOKING) But seriously, if it’s the same procedure as glass and acrylic, should I try and get GLAP to foot the bill for their mistake?
  16. I think these are stock. If they’re the low profile Air Mods door, then (if I’m wrong I’ll be told) I believe you don’t need the fairing behind the inner door
  17. I’m in if he is willing to split costs/sell a set
  18. damn. that was quick. If Gary doesn't take them, I"m in.
  19. Check out SoCal Flying Monkey’s review of the PMA450B on YouTube. It’s a pretty slick unit. More than I’d ever use, but would still be what I’d buy for a replacement when it comes time.
  20. If that’s the fin going up to the vertical stab, you can either buy a fibreglass one from LASAR, or I can sell you the aluminum one is just removed to have that speed mod installed.
  21. There was a gentleman in Canada (Calgary) that had one for sale on the Buy/Sell pages a couple months ago. Not sure if he still has it or not.
  22. And can’t even ship to a post office in Montana, fly down and pick it up because the border is closed. Guess I’ll have to wait.
  23. Won’t ship to Canada. Boo
  24. FWIW, my AME told me you’re using the boost pump to “make sure you’re flooded”. Sounds crazy, but his theory is that you now know what you’re dealing with for certain, and won’t do any damage.
  25. This has been the ONLY way I have been able to consistently start my engine after it has ran for any period of time. Taxi from hangar to fuel pump.... need to do a flood start. Fly for 3 hours, shit down for lunch, need to do a flood start. I’ve seen Don Maxwells YouTube and it doesn’t work for me. Tried several other ways to no avail. I just stick with this procedure and 7-8 blades max it’s fired up.
