  1. @gsxrpilot much appreciated. I think I have it cased now. I've got a local guy who does a lot of CNC around here who owes me a favor. He designed and made some unreal valve box extensions for me last year. I'll post some photos once he's completed the pedal extensions, and I'll post after they're installed as well. Worst case... these F'g things don't work, and I'll buy that set off of you.
  2. CNC guy is an old friend, and minorly concerned. Fair enough. I'd have a slight conscience issue if a pedal stuck, causing an accident. A&P is cool with it, and willing to sign off.
  3. I Love hearing about the history of the tail number. I'm just completing a purchase on my first plane: C- GLJA. I didn't really think about it until last week, but the letters are actually the initials of two of the most important men in my like: My Uncle (Gary Lee) - who was like a second Father to me, and was a long time hunting partner until he passed 6 years ago. and, My Father (James Arthur) - who gave me the "bug" to fly when I was 4. I know they will always be flying and watching over me, regardless.
  4. I've got the drawings, and photos of the ones on ebay as a reference.... My CNC guy is just a little leery about making something for an aircraft that isn't a "certified part". That's what I'm trying to find, and having difficulty with. It's a timing thing as well. Seats are being redone next week, so it'll be a good time to put the pedals on, when the seats are out of the aircraft.
  5. Just got off the phone with a lovely parts lady from LASAR... $357.14 each.
  6. I know it's been covered on a couple of other locations, but here's what I'd like to know: I'm in Canada, and am just about to take possession of a '74 M20F. Sitting in the left seat, I'm all the way forward, and still feel as if I'm reaching for the pedals. So, extensions it is! Looked online... ebay has a set on for 749.00!!! I'm a nice guy, but not about to grab my ankles first, before paying that. Mooney service tells me to call local supplier. Left 2 messages and nothing (also says on recording that they're a Cessna parts dealer. no mention of Mooney). Look through here, and see that there's plans to build your own. PERFECT! Talk to a buddy who has a CNC machine, and a perfectionist. Here's the issue: Am I LEGALLY able to have someone manufacture these parts, and install them on an aircraft (I'll have my AME do that part)??? If so, where can I find the CAR on it, so I can have my CNC guy make them, and not freak out over any "non-certified parts" going on a plane?
  7. I can understand the OH comment. But, Vernon is no where near the ocean. It's hot and dry as it gets where that plane sits. Cheers
  8. FWIW, I saw this as a way to make the aircraft a little more “what I want”, without forking out another 15k for paint right off the hop. Also, the A&P performing the prebuy suggested a guy to do the work. I’m 100% certain hes sogn iff on the works at the same time.
  9. Any clue what this ran him? Precisely what I’m looking to do.
  10. Looking to see if anyone has had any Vinyl work done to their plane? I'm just in the middle of a pre-buy of a M20F. The paint is overall a 5 or 6, but the color scheme isn't my bag. I definitely would like to fly the bird a few years before I toss another large sum on just paint (it needs interior work, and a panel upgrade at some point). Has anyone had luck with a partial vinyl wrap? Just to cover the old colors, and give it a new look. This is what I was thinking of doing, to cover over the old double blue it has now.
  11. There's a C in BC interior, being sold by Prairie Aircraft out of Calgary. It's a 62, all manual. They just lowered the price on it.

I get not wanting to sell. What I don't get, is why (in my case): Plane has 50.. yes 50 hours flown in the past 10 (YES TEN) years! Apparently, the owner is building a Vans on the side... why? I"m not sure. He obviously doesn't fly much. Prop has the 50 hours on it... and will need an O/H by date next year. VRef puts it literally 1500 higher than I offered. All I got back from the AME who is doing the sale for him is "He wants what he's asking for. Because, that's what other people are asking!" Well, ASK is one thing, GETTING is another. Last time I checked, his ad had over 1600 people look at it. Several people show up and view the plane, and in 2 months, I was the only offer.... That plane will make a nice paperweight.

Any of you want to speak with the guy I just sent an offer to, who has had his plane listed for 2 1/2 months, with no offers, and then told me to pound sand? Gave him an offer 10% off his ask, which was 5% under a very generous VRef. And a “sorry, no thanks” some people just don’t want to sell
  14. Keep us informed. I'm interested once it gets back on the market.
  15. Hey Mike, How'd the Pre-Buy go?
