  1. In flight I doubt your amp usage would be more than 30 or 40 amps. I've very rarely seem my alternator put more than 40 amps out, and I have a 150 amp alternator.
  2. I'm paying more for 240k hull. I think 3100 for 1mm smooth and 240k hull. That is pretty cheap.
  3. is wilmar in MN simply not weep no more?
  4. On the older bravo, ovations, and eagles, the tail light was a strobe only. It used to be that way on my eagle before i went to LEDs and now i have a nav strobe rear light.
  5. Pretty big thread on Beechtalk as well. In the real world not the best place to lose an engine but, you have a couple alright options to land around there. On top of that, he bailed bail at around 10000 feet, and had multiple campgrounds to go to around that area, let alone trails or roads. gliding down to the airplane only shows that his main priority was the video clips. At least he had the selfie stick ready to go. This is where he bailed: https://www.google.com/maps/place/34°48'46.0"N+119°56'36.7"W/@34.812767,-119.9457027,789m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0xe742ac60562f0e4e!7e2!8m2!3d34.8127673!4d-119.9435139
  6. Inteliaudio is a game changer in my opinion. Makes it way easier to listen to atis/awos/asos while on flight following. Dual bluetooth. So you can listen to what you want to while your wife listens to her own music. Spare charger. Very user friendly. You also have atc mute modes for the passengers so they don't need to listen to atc but instead only listen to you. There are more reasons but those are some of the basics. You can also add warning inputs. Out of all the things i like the most in my panel, the pma450b and the gfc500 were the 2 major game changers. I like my audio panel and it would be one of the highest priorities to upgrade if my plane didnt have a modern one. Just my 2 cents. Another option is trying to get a used pma450a from chase at @Avionics Source. i doubt it'll be more than a couple hundred bucks more than the pma6000b.
  7. Looks like its going to be nice. Only thing i might add that is well worth the price delta is the audiopanel. If you can, do a pma450b instead of the 6000b.
  8. Looks about right
  9. For sale I got a full Stec 30 autopilot and an st 180 HSI setup. This system came out working of my Mooney when It was replaced with a G3x/G5 and a GFC500 setup. 28 volt setup. I don't know what the STC will cost for a reinstall but figured anyone can do what they want with this system. If you want to use it great. If you want to resell it for more that's fine too. If you want the parts also fine. Connectors are all cut. You might need some new pins but the connectors are all there. I need space in the garage and I just want it gone. 1500 OBO. Buyer I'll cover the shipping. you cover the paypal fee. Thanks Nik Part numbers are as followed: servos: 0106-14-t6 0108-1-p5 0106-7-r2 TC: collins 101 HSI: 6443 The rest: 01171 6444 6446 0111
  10. The orion has both a strobe and a nav integrated into it. It doesn't need to be a nav or strobe light since it can operate as both. I'd hook both up to it as an additional nav light. You would hook up a nav cable from the switch to hook up to the white nav portion of the light. Additionally to that you'd hook up the strobe portion from the strobe switch to power the additional strobe white light. And then a sync wire connected to the other 2 strobe lights to make them all flash together.
  11. If that's the case, do the Orion rear light, and make sure they hook up the strobe, the nav, and the sync. That way it'll blink with the main nav/strobes.
  12. Put the Whelen Orion 500 LED light. It has both Nav and strobe in it. Honestly if you don't have LED Nav/strobes, now might be the time to do that. Since the entirety of the wiring is being replaced, take out the strobe power supplies, switch out the lights to the Orion 650e and the 500 and sync them all up. It's kind of a pain to do and worthwhile doing when they're routing the cables throughout the wing already. Then make sure you add all that stuff to the new weight and balance. It's probably another 10 to 15 pounds, but 10 to 15 pounds every time ends up making a massive difference. Especially since the Achilles heel of the Mooney tends to be useful load on a lot of the long bodies.
  13. If you end up doing this please shoot me a PM.
  14. Electro air and mt prop. Gann pap engine?
  15. How do you like the g3x compared to the txi?
  16. I think this is more applicable to the acclaims? Dont the bravos regularly make it to tbo without major engine work.
  17. I really like 13000 to 16000. It isn't that hard to get up there for me usually.
  18. in cruise with all the lights and avionics on, I use about 12amps. Add the pitot heat and it adds another 10ish.
  19. Mine has 2 holes in it
  20. Comparable to the f33 or v35, the mooney is slightly faster. On the same fuel it'll just go slightly further. With long range tanks the mooney has 130 gallons. The bo is 114. Mooney has the speed, range and CG. Bo has the off airport capability, the Useful load, and when it comes down to fun flying, the bo has the controls. One isn't better than the other. Ones just better at certain aspects than the other. At the end of the day, the bo is what more people are looking for. However, only the mooney can beFIKI turbo with the long range tanks. The only bo thats 35% more plane than the long bodies are 36 models. And thats because they're literally a different class aircraft.
  21. I presume within the next couple weeks we're going to see circle to lands at night NA at KSEE
  22. 208 this year with a 2ish month annual. not too bad
  23. I have it and like it a lot. Its simple and does the trick. At first I forgot to turn off the mags a couple times, but since I've added it to the checklist, it hasn't been an issue.
  24. Its a lear 35. Yikes.
