  1. You laugh now, but you know who will have the last laugh.
  2. Used my regular PCP. She read and understood all the material. The doc is only offering an opinion that the pilot could safely operate an airplane (from a medical perspective) on that day. You could have a heart attack on the way out of the office. If anything, Basic Med is less risky for the physician.
  3. I have communicated with some, but not all of these. I'll reach out to the new ones you found. Does that search pick up the word "rocket" in their profile? I have tried something similar to search through all members, but couldn't get it to work. Thanks! EDIT: I see now that it finds the word "rocket" embedded in their handle.
  4. I have asked around the Rocket people previously, but not come up with much there either. Got any suggestions?
  5. I haven't bought cylinders yet, but I suspect that the 400dF number will be expensive for (especially) big-bore Continentals.
  6. I'm 6'4" (or used to be) and I haven't been in nearly the number of Mooneys that many people on MooneySpace have, but I doubt I could fly one with the seat too far back. The way-back seat position is for ingress/egress.
  7. And to flesh those numbers out, the 75% and 400dF are probably okay numbers for a Lyc. Most of Mike's personal experience is with a big-bore Continental (520), and Continentals seem to be more delicate. Plus, his 310 is turbocharged.
  8. I must have a broader definition of bureaucrat.
  9. Thanks! Made me laugh out loud. I'm right there with you.
  10. That's a real possibility. I (peripherally) knew a freshly certified pilot who had an astounding number of hours in some kind of home simulator before and during his PPL training. After training in a 172, as soon as he got his license, he jumped into a 206 with no transition training or check-ride, and didn't bend anything. I think he was able to seamlessly jump from one airplane to another, much heavier, airplane was because everything he had flown using the simulator, as well as the 172, was flown by the numbers. When I got my license, it was more of a seat-of-the-pants affair, and moving to a heavier airplane seemed like a lot of work.
  11. Thank you! Haven't been to the Mooney web site for some time. I'll check them out.
  12. Title says it all. I have read zillions of posts on MooneySpace, but not seen many owners or mechanics in the Kansas City area.
  13. I especially liked the "10-4". But I get your point. "Altitude descending through xxxx feet."
  14. Direct from factory or via an MSC?
  15. Please allow me to continue the remainder of my life in blissful ignorance. If I let my mind go down that rabbit hole, I might start making bad decisions. Well ... perhaps I should say "worse decisions".
  16. Your eyeball is, in most respects, way more sophisticated but, in this case, the relatively simpler iPhone might save your life. Neat observation!
  17. That should do it!
  18. Test pilot. And he has flown Mooneys with instrumented turbochargers. And his data suggests idling on the ground to "cool the turbo" may not be good. And by not "cooling off the turbo", it may last longer. That last sentence may be my own deduction.
  19. Where is this relief valve?
  20. I have the KAP pitch trim, and the Aerotrim STC on rudder and aileron trim. Sorry, I don't have any spare parts.
  21. See Bob Kromer doc in previous post.
  22. Not sure about abnormal, but not good.
  23. Sorry. Should have specified. It's the airport manager's number.
  24. Any idea if this would work using one of the compressed air and venturi vacuum sources?
