  1. I recently saw a split spark plug nut "repaired" with JB Weld. Right up there with using parts from the aviation aisle at ACE Hardware.
  2. Well, maybe my metabolism is different but, this time of year, I start the day at 80 and, depending on activity, work my way down to 79 or 78.
  3. I used to poo-poo (is that even a word?) the "dry heat" thing until I made several trips to Phoenix a few years ago. Sitting outdoors in the shade in 80 degrees was a little chilly.
  4. Those people are either very young, or they use sweaters and blankets year-round.
  5. But it's a dry heat.
  6. I use Wi-Fi 90% at home, but when I'm out, I have a SIM card from Ting so I pay a low, fixed amount each month, and then just for the data I use. This also allows me to use my iPad like a phone via VOIP.
  7. That's what I think too.
  8. I know that you can't get your money back, but 70k down to 10k seems like a lot of overnight depreciation.
  9. Must be at or near a record.
  10. Who put it in?
  11. Not seeing info on what Mooney models/years/serial numbers?
  12. How much to add it to an airplane without ice protection?
  13. Boy oh howdy, got that right!
  14. I wonder if a composite would take the abuse. That was one of the issues Doug Doers was struggling with years ago. The pulses from the diesel were hard on props.
  15. How would baffle seals cause a fluctuation? I would expect temps to go up and stay up?
  16. I'm not aware of anyone around here with more knowledge and experience than Clarence, but I don't see any downside to trying the ring flush. If it doesn't help, yanking jugs is always a plan "B".
  17. Gen 5 Wi-Fi only, 64 GB https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FUQY2LL/A/Refurbished-iPad-mini-5-Wi-Fi-64GB-Gold
  18. As with aircraft mechanics, I think it depends more on the person doing the work than the name of the business. UbreakIfix fixed the problem I was having with my Samsung phone, but destroyed the internal connections to the auxiliary memory card.
  19. If we are talking about the Mini, gen 4 and gen 5 are identical in appearance and dimension. I have both in front of me.
  20. Check out the in-flight mag check described on page 2: https://resources.savvyaviation.com//wp-content/uploads/articles_eaa/EAA_2010-12_the-mag-check.pdf There is also a "choose files" link at the bottom of a post that you are creating. I have had times when that worked, but drag and drop didn't. Also, you may have reached your upload limit. When our server ran out of allocated disk space, the administrator had to delete a bunch of uploads to get the system back on line. Now, we each have a limit so that doesn't happen again unexpectedly. If you have reached your limit, donate $25 (or more) and your limit goes up. I use PayPal. And you help keep MooneySpace alive. The link for donations is: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=K8XHCJ34JXT7W If all else fails, contact Craig @Mooniac58.
  21. Good man (both you and your Dad)!
  22. I think the run-up mag check is good to do, but probably only ferrets out gross mag problems. In-flight at cruise power should be more of a test -- especially at altitude.
  23. Does drag and drop not work for you?
