  1. He mentioned Chief's pricing, Spruce nor Chief will sell you then 900/930 without the probes. I did not know that JPI would credit you. Maybe this is true if you buy directly from them.
  2. I have an EDM 830 with probes that is nearly out of my airframe that I will be parting with soon. A EDM 900/930 requires all new probes to be installed and replaced as part of the Primary Engine reporting replacement. They won't sell you an EDM 900/930 display (head) only without the probes unless you have a warranty issue or replacement one going back.
  3. Let me know what you come up with. My guess, like mentioned above, is to remove the card - load the file onto the FS510 and put back into the 750. I love my FS510 and would not trade it for the usefullness it provides by with databases and streaming.
  4. Crystal Avionics, KBAZ (near San Antonio) New Braunfels, TX Mine is there now for a complete panel upgrade.
  5. So not yet owning at TXi, evidiently most of the features that I wrote down were avaiable from the v2.20 update in August of 2018. So @Andy95W was correct = features that came out last year re-cap. They did say there having another webinar on May 15th this year to talk more about the G3X Certified - but probably just a recap of what was announced a month or so ago.
  6. Correct - basically, they are going over existing features and showing new features in the TXi v2.20 software. Now reviewing the GTN features and about to talk about the new software features.
  7. Tuesday, April 30th at 10am CDT. hmmm.... TXi and GTN upgrades? Interesting, since my TXi is being installed right now.
  8. Seriously, go by and grab one/both - use at as an excuse to check up on the install for me. I have a biz trip to Boston next Monday-Thurs so unless he has jumped way ahead of schedule (as avionics shops tend to do), I shouldn’t need it.
  9. @gsxrpilot, stop by John Miller’s shop at KBAZ and borrow mine. They are probably pulled out on the hanger floor anyway for the TXi upgrade.
  10. The kids loved the huge 30”? fold-down screen (TV) for the passengers, momma liked the ample room in every seat (7) and I liked the Perspective Touch Plus advanced flight deck and the RVSM capable plane. I wish it were a Mooney, too, or at least a TBM-ooney. Can’t wait to get my 252 back from TXi upgrade; until then I can stroll around the airport.
  11. So this is pretty cool. A guy at my local airport bought and owned Cirrus Jet #1 back when they were released a couple years ago. Cirrus would fly potential clients down to view the jet and had it on retainer as a demo to sell future ones. The owner, a few hangers over from me, took delivery of his G2 jet Friday - again first delivery of a G2. With the AoA AD complied with, he flew her home Friday night. Today, my family and I were at the airport for a nice evening flight and saw his hanger opened. We pulled over and he let us crawl in and climb around his brand new SF50. This thing is pretty awesome on the inside and the paint is not too shabby either. thank you Joe!
  12. I looked today. It appears the pilot guide has been updated since I bought had my 750 installed. Thanks!
  13. I have had a GTN 750 for the last 3-4 years and never knew it had a checklist function. I will go re-read the GTN POH; I don’t recall seeing it in there.
  14. My M20K model has this type of door but it is not a traditional spring like shown. It has two pieces of metal that hold the door open. I only know this because my hinges pins are worn out and being replaced by SWTA MSC currently.
  15. I use Phillips X/C in the winter and Aeroshell W100 in the summer. From what I read, the oil brand does not matter it all about treatment and engine use. I think there has been arguments that Aeroshell 15W50 will not suspend all the nasties that straight weight oil can, but other than that - Phillips multiweght is very good as well as Aeroshell's W100 and W80 oils.
  16. I would just take a slide-in replacement for the KX155 that does COM (VOR and GPS) would be nice but really just want to replace my displays.
  17. Cross-fill flight plans would be the biggest benefit and/or BT connectivity without having to have the FS510.
  18. If he (or anyone) does the remote 345 (great space-saver), I would most definitly get the FS510. Besides the benefits listed above, there have been a few stories of the remote transponder's bluetooth not being able to make it thru the avionics bay's metal well enought for pairing = no iPad connectivity. With the FS, the card is super simple to install and puts the Bluetooth signal where you need it most: the cockpit.
  19. Mine are great, same company.
  20. I don’t think the GTN will cross fill the GNX. If you don’t mind entering your flight plan on both devices and keeping them in sync, manually, it might not be a bad thing. With the 345, you can stream GPS and traffic data to your iPad, for the second screen. Take it one step further and get a FlightStream 510 for your GTN and have full flight plan transfer to and from your GTN and get your ADSB data over the same connection. Another big benefit that doesn’t seem that big of a deal until you have it is database Concierge. This allows you to keep your databases in sync without every really doing anything. When enabled, your databases will auto download to your mobile device and auto update to your GTN.
  21. I was in the Mooney Service Center (SWTA) getting CiES senders installed and asked JD could also take care of the SB. He had parts the next day and installed 2 hours later. My parts were a little different than the 231, however, maybe the cause of the back-order. I think the 231 engine has the rigid (purpose bent) fuel hose where my 252 has the flexible hose. Engine starts exactly the same.
  22. I don't own a Bravo but got my IFR in my M20K a couple years ago. I don't use a "power setting" but I do whatever it takes to remain a stable glide path at 90kts (too) until runway enviornment - good advise.
  23. How tight (or loose) is your oil cap. My TSIO-360 was passing some oil out the breather tube on a 500-600hr engine and realized that it was related to the tabs on my oil cap not holding it tight. No oil was coming out from the cap although one flight I did find the oil cap came completely loose (off) when I know it was secured before the flight. We carefully bent the tabs back to bring the cap snug against the gasket and filler neck and that solved all my breather tub discharge issues.
  24. Sounds like a wastegate issue. Do you have the Merlin?
