I would be interested in an inflatable seal as well. I have one today but it leaks a little.

Super accurate digital fuel senders. Mine are bing upgraded to CiES in three weeks. -
I had the same concerns. At each annual they borescope the engine and had already done that when this was found (annual last month) but after seeing this they went in and looked further using the scope: nothing could be found nor ill effects apparent with the second scope. Checked filter and borescoped the turbo and no sign. JD at SWTA spent a lot of time trying to determine cause and effect. I don’t know what is worse: finding something or not. We sent it in for further analysis to Tempest. Awaiting those results. Maybe it burned up. Also reviewing engine log data to see if we could determine a date it happened. JD told me that he he seen this maybe once before but not often by any stretch. He works on a lot of Mooney engines being a Texas Mooney Service Center.

I went Tempest finewire this past year and every aspect of my engine improved: starting, idling, cruise, and LOP operations. M20K 252

MAX is not out until July

Also, a TXi + a G5

I am not totally sure. I think they are just really good at photoshop’ing their logo on others products. How long have we been waiting on the Ki300 and Aerocruise?
-
Agree. In testing with plenty of runway, I have taken off with my speedbrakes to know that I could if the situation arises. Test and know your airplane, with an Mooney instructor.

When ATC keeps me high or forgets to give me lower, pop them out for an extra 500 FPM decent with the same power setting. Or to slow down while entering the pattern to get to gear speed (140 IAS in my plane)

iPad Mini4 vs bigger or wait for a the mini 5
Bryan replied to Seth's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Now several places are reporting the same rumor. Here is the most recent: https://www.redmondpie.com/possible-launch-window-for-ipad-mini-5-airpods-2-airpower-airpods-wireless-charging-case-revealed/ -
I do the same with as the other guys but ,also, I normally wipe down the leading edges on storage (you know, fresh bugs are easier to get off- juicy) and during that process I seem to always look at the tail and can tell if it was not reset. T/O testing with all sorts on configs are good to know so you can react quicker when you are caught off guard. I have done the trim testing but also Speed Brakes UP/deployed testing. The plane will climb with them up, not as well with them stowed but at least I can recognize that.

Latest rumor says Apple will releases the new Mini iPad on March 29th along with new AirPods. (Wireless headphones) Preorder on March 22nd, with Apple expected to hold a press conference for the new devices earlier that week. ...again, all still rumor until confirmed by Apple. -
Yes, with both connected (FS510 and GTX345) when one drops, the iPad does not lose GPS, AHRS, or ADSB when the FS drops off. Early on, the FS had problems disconnecting because of a firmware bug, they have since fixed. I only knew this because my flight plan quit syncing (the only exclusive function) that the FS does.
-
I don't think they were mis-configured, but possibly. I am sure the dealer has the capability to shut off the 345 BlueTooth on a config page. I *think* the Bluetooth radios could have just not in pairing mode for you to "see" them to connect the time(s) you were in the club's planes. Once paired, they will automatically re-connect. Or maybe they the one-off rides pilots had their 2nd device already paired to the other device and in their pocket - like I do, for a backup.
-
One of the best features of the FS510, not to be overlooked, is the Database Concierge. My iPad automatically downloads the updates at home and when I get to the plane it automatically connects and updates the panel databases.
-
Yes, all the ADSB data and AHRS from the GTX345 comes to the GTN. If you connect only to the FS510, everything is available over Bluetooth: adsb traffic, weather, GPS, AHRS, and flight plan transfer from the FS510. In fact, I never connect my iPad directly to the 345 unless the FS510 fails. That did happen early on with a firmware bug that has since been fixed. If you want to give a passenger capability to “follow along”, just give them access to the GTX 345. I have a Garmin Watch (D2) and connect it only to the 345 as all I care about is GPS location.

I have this setup: GTN750, FS510, GTX345, GMA 35c. The ones underlined each have their own bluetooth radio that you can connect to independently; I can confirm 100%. When you go into the "Connect" menu of the GTN, you are presented with three icons to "enable" bluetooth for each. If all bluetooth radios are enabled for pairing, the iPad (or mobile device) will show you see three distinct Bluetooth radios to connect to. In fact, I had to re-name each of the bluetooth connections within the menu to tell them apart on my iPad. I can confirm, that: It Works On My Box™ Also, it works on another plane in my club that has a GTN650, FS510, and GTX345.

My grandfather use to own a GM dealership I liken this more to an Apple vs. Google argument (especially phones). Apple only allows their stuff to connect really well to their own hardware, yet makes it hard for others to play nice. Yet, Google (phones) give the user ultimate ownership of doing what they want to do and make it a point to play nice with everyone. Both of which succeed at their primary function, very well. This is true, each Bluetooth "device" has a two concurrent connections; mulitiple can be saved for quick-connect in the future. If you have a GTN with a FS510, two mobile devices can connect to the FlightStream. If you, also, have a GTX345 transponder, two more/different deviecs can connect to it for GPS, ADSB, and AHRS data. That is 4 devices connected to sources for ADSB, GPS data, and AHRS. Yes, only the devices that connect to the Flight Stream can change/update flight plan info but other devices can get to other info by connecting thru another device. When I get in the plane, my phone connects to the Audio Panel as well as my iPad (for voice, music, and aural alerts), my iPad connects to the FS510 as well another passenger can.

One huge advantage for the GTNs is visual approaches. It basically gives you advisory glide slope (think VASI) to most airports and if you have a G500 it will also give you VNav guidance on DPs, Enroute, STARs, and Approaches. The VNav features will also allow newer digital autopilots to couple VNav altitudes to your autopilot. That is a big advantage over the IFDs (today) if important. I still say that if form factor and budget are an issue, go with the IFD 440 over the GTN 650, but if you can swing it, the GTN 750 is worth its weight in gold. For me the GTN 750 will be required equipment any all future (IFR) plane purchases.

The FS210 will not save you money overall, I don’t think. My guess is that the cost to install the FS210 over the FS510 would eat the acquisition cost savings right up. The FS510 just slides into a card slot vs mounting and wiring the FS210, however the FS210 does provide you with a backup AHRS. I also doubt FF will ever get database Concierge. GP connects with your flyGarmin account for those databases which are different from the FF databases - different format. The purchase of a FS510 will give you 6-months (or maybe 12) of GP, but yes, if you want to continue to use FF and db concierge then you will have to maintain two subscriptions. As others have stated, IFD is going to be cheaper.

Spend my money for me - new panel dreaming
Bryan replied to Rick Junkin's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Yes, G5. Not ideal but much cheaper and easier to install.
