Xplane does not have Mooneys. You have to buy them separate. I wonder will they have a community like Xplane that will build add ons!

Mine has maintained mp up to 17500 (have not gone to FL yet). Remember even if for some reason your set up cannot maintain the full 27" of MP and say you are only getting 24 or 25" of MP that is still a ton better than say 15" mp when flying higher with NA (I think around 20- 30 kts better). I normally run mine under 27" (I will climb at 27 and cruise at 25 or 26) because I choose to not because it won't.

Plane Power Alternator Acting up

Also, I think the new Zeftronics has a dummy light that will tell you if the unit is good or bad. -
Plane Power Alternator Acting up
wcb replied to Rspencer612's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
I recently had a similar issue with my VR and a loose wire. The VR should have an adjustment screw to raise of lower your constant flow from the Alt. We 1st did the breaker check. Turn on the master check where and when the VR starts reporting odd numbers. Use the voltage meter to check the wires etc. (found one loose on the alt but not burned like yours). Replaced the VR with plane power VR. Adjusted VR to approx 14. All is good now! Sounds like VR adjustment screw to me. Not a professional and worked with JD over at SWTA to solve my issues! If you need anything talk with JD at SWTA in Smithville, TX. -
The problem is in his OP he said 1996 and newer. What is the newest Comanche available?

Flying Magazine "I Learned About Flying From That"
wcb replied to LANCECASPER's topic in Mooney Safety & Accident Discussion
Mine was the old oil pressure sending unit that had not been touched during the annual about 5 hours before my oil on the windscreen at 150 agl story. The moral is that a leak does not have to come from something that was worked on. This happen to me just about 2 months ago and visibility became extremely low on a beautiful day like landing in hard IMC all the way to the ground. Another thing I will add to that is my oil was also recently changed which at least gave me the ability to make out strips of grass vs strips of concrete. If it would have been dark over used oil I am sure visibility would have been even less. Change your oil OFTEN here is another reason. I have always changed mine at roughly every 25 hours (with the turbo and just being conservative as to proper maintenance schedule) -

That is a smoking deal for whoever needs them!!!!! -
That is not a C anymore for sure it is a SUPER C! In-fact many would argue that Mooney should consider basically making your plane as one of their models off of the line. NICE
-
Welcome aboard! Would love to see more pics of your bird and that Q-tip prop. The vid looks it is a nicely moded C.
-
Just thought I would share this! Same bird as yours with no mods (well other than turbo normalization that became inop for the flight on the way to SC) On the way to SC without TN I got about at 15.5 I got about 130 kts tas at 6.5 gph on the way back with TN at 10.5 I got about 163kts tas at about 9 gph both LOP.
-
Houston nonstop to Mt. Pleasant SC. Started going to 17.5 but then settled in at 15.5 in super eco mode with turbo disengaged and burning only 6.5 gph LOP. The way back we had head winds and used turbo so had to stop on the way back. IFD 540 shot and the wing tip shot are actually from the return trip.

@Mooneymite my not be that hard of smack(from those that want raw speed), but it will certainly take a hit (taking just one plane out of the Mooney sales would hurt them since they are producing so few). Most people buying a brand new Mooney want the speed. The issue is getting something from stable company that is moving forward vs a company that seems to be in a constant state of flux. (Put it this way with my mission today I would pick an Acclaim or Ultra over the DA50 but I would certainly consider it)
-
Make them wonder how a 76F is climbing at 750ft a minute at 17k
-
No I have the RayJay Turbo. So, I am "turbo normalized". In fact always wonder when ATC ask why type of aircraft should I be adding the turbo?
-
I am a little confused on the operation of the top prop in that this is the required placard: ” No cont. ops. above 24″ btwn. 2350 and 2550 rpm” (M20E & M20F only) I am almost always currently at these limits in cruise. Many times I am running over square at 10k and above so for example 26 mp at 2500 rpm.

Cirrus Faster than Mooney, on Average
wcb replied to Jerry 5TJ's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Here is an article from Aviation Consumer. https://www.aviationconsumer.com/industry-news/editorial/mooney-acclaim-ultra-tops-in-raw-speed/ Chart I think this means everyone needs to stop messing around will all inferior single engine planes and buy an ACCLAIM!!!! -
Cirrus Faster than Mooney, on Average
wcb replied to Jerry 5TJ's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Just to clarify I do not doubt your numbers. My numbers were simply max cruise for a base sr22 vs base 280hp Ovation off of (I think it was plane and pilot magazine and not specifically for the 310 hp in the controller add). It is all trade offs as I said both are special birds and would take either over a 2006 (just pick the year with comparable hours and set up) of any other brand and you will find the best price is usually the Mooney. Since I threw in 2006 Cirrus and Mooney. (I know I know - the year is less important than the hours is why I tried to get comparable of rough age equipment and hours). How about a 180hp Diamond da 40 for $249k no a/c or fiki as is the other two? Or 2007 Diamond DA40XL for $219k? How about a 2006 Bo and get two more seats G36 for $495? (there were no F33's to compare) How about a 2007 Cessna 182T closest comparable at 229k and 319k (both with more hours no fiki no a/c)? How about a 2006 Cessna 400 (REALLY GOOD COMPARISON except no fiki) for $275k? No real good comparable Piper on the market? So out of those listed the Mooney at $249k, Cessna 400 at $275k, Cirrus SR22 at $289k, Bo at $495k. Diamond, Piper and C182 just don't make the cut for a later model comparison. Just a quick look for fun! -
Cirrus Faster than Mooney, on Average
wcb replied to Jerry 5TJ's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
No doubt a TN is going to be as good or better than NON TN (of course the above post is a 305 rocket vs a TN)when flying high. This is why my analysis compared a SR22 (non TN) and an Ovation. 183 kts vs 197 kts could simply be the difference in the gear. No doubt they are both special planes! From an apples to apples comparison it is as simple as looking at the trade offs (Speed, Chute, Cost)! -
Cirrus Faster than Mooney, on Average
wcb replied to Jerry 5TJ's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
So to be truly fair look at the performance and price of a say a 2006 Ovation 3GX vs say a 2006 SR22. Both are non turbo. The Mooney I ran for sampling was N969RP listed on Controller for $249,000 and is very well equipped (recently sold to someone here maybe) vs the Cirrus listed on Controller was N335A currently on controller listed for $289,000. I tried to get similar engine times etc etc. and this was just a very quick peak a some planes online. For $50,000 more to purchase the Cirrus you got a Parachute and less speed (2340tt with 925 on the engine). Per book... Max cruise 183 kts For $50,000 less you got dual G1000's (good or bad compared to the dual Avidynes with dual Garmin 430's or does it matter?) and MORE SPEED (1260tt with same on the engine). Per book Max cruise 197 kts For my money I am still happy with the my Turbo Normalized F (for now at least...LOL). I have two fewer cylinders and I do max out at about 160 KTS TAS in cruise. But, then again I do not have the price tag into my bird that of the two above. -
I had a similar issue in my C. I had an FBO or mechanic do the same the problem was I could not prove which one and had to eat the cost.

I am have missed something. Signature slog?
