Happy Black Friday! I have had several people inquire and will be getting it listed on other sites soon. This will make a great purchase before the new year especially if putting into a business. -
Update... SOLD ...1976 F with RayJay Turbo... NEW TO MKT $87,500

Alright now! Jerry's auction went well and sold that J. Now it is time to refocus on my F... LOL -
For the 4 bangers at least. I would consider the Cessna the Tortoise and the E the rabbit (F still a rabbit but a 4 knot slower rabbit according to rising up) and our TN's rabbits on roids? I also use my turbo from 5 to 10k and it still makes a difference for sure.

I think Jerry might be the mechanic with the mechanics lien which is why he may want to see it sold (which is all good the plane needs to be sold and some tlc) -
Update... SOLD ...1976 F with RayJay Turbo... NEW TO MKT $87,500

Forgot to add the new Mags and new Ignition harness. I had two new ones installed about 200 hrs ago as well as a new ignition harness about 100 or so hours. -
And, my F can really only be compared to an E if it has the RayJay Turbo. It is interesting through the years I see a whole lot more F's that got the Turbo than E's. It would really be interesting to hear someone that has owned both. According to Rising Up the cruise difference is 4 kts(how much is weight and how much is length? Because other than that they are for all practical purposes the same plane.). Who here has a RayJay E model with the numbers from say 15k feet. I get about 160 kts tas in normal cruise at that level. I can go to economy cruise to slow down or max cruise to pick up even more speed (best is roughly 170kts). https://www.risingup.com/planespecs/info/airplane349.shtml https://www.risingup.com/planespecs/info/airplane350.shtml

1984 Mooney M20J SPECIAL EDITION AUCTION
wcb replied to Jerry Pressley's topic in Aircraft Classifieds
If someone was considering experimental this might make a great bird instead. Take this one on the cheap go through it and rebuild it top to bottom. Big assumptions you are an A&P or can work closely with one that can sign off and then there is the whole potential corrosion issue. -
From what I have heard the speed difference in an E and F is negligible even though the F is longer (roughly 12 inches). I am certainly not the expert here but from what I understand is that the extra length did not really change the aerodynamics and the weight difference is only 60 lbs. Someone here can also tell you how much per 100 lbs it will cost you in kts. I think if my memory is correct I remember something like 1 or 2 kts per 100 lbs. That would mean the speed difference due to weight between an F and E is around .6 to 1.2 kts. and you get 12 more inches.

Update... SOLD ...1976 F with RayJay Turbo... NEW TO MKT $87,500

I would be planning on about 1 hour 20 minutes to his airport of KWEA. That might not be the same as Kessel in less than twelve parsecs, but it is a whole lot better the DRIVING!! or A CESSNA (almost like driving...LOL)!!!!! -

I thought this was my forever plane. Which is why I have set up the panel the way I wanted and have it set for the GFC500 Auto Pilot. It is simply the Ovation bug bit me in the .......... -
@KJC1333 Agreed this is a GREAT Oregon mountain bird. I certainly feel like someone is getting a lot of bang for the buck when they buy a F with Turbo mine or not. Simply look at what it would cost to add a turbo to a non turbo airplane and you are talking 30k or 40k (someone would know the hard number). Bang for the buck in turbo, panel, total time, and engine hours. Of course it is my plane so I think it is a good value and I think I have priced it right. BTW .... I bought this plane from a Dr. in Oregon.

SOLD New to market as of today 11/19/20! I am selling my F model with RayJay Turbo. I will add some pictures here but you can also see some in my profile. Based in the Houston area at DWH. I will list it here for a few days before going to full marketing. 1. RayJay Turbo - If you do not know about the turbo it is a game changer. Yes with the RayJay you can get to the FL's if you want. The highest I have been is only 17500 at about 160kts True Airspeed. Turn the Turbo off and never use is a turbo aircraft is always possible. The best of both worlds! I usually go to 8k to 15k with turbo and in performance cruise get around 160kts TAS at 12 GPH or Fly lean of peak (YES GAMIS) and get about 150kts TAS at around 8GPH. I have even gotten to my altitidued at 15500 going from Houston to South Carolina climbing at 750 all the way up and then disengaged the turbo and flew extreme economy cruise and got less than 7 per hr. 2. About 2800 TT (Time will change a little) 3. About 750 SMOH (Time will change a little) 4. Paint is in good shape 5. Leather Interior is in good shape 6. I have owned the plane roughly 3 years and since then took care of some minor squawks and have done some upgrades to include. Avidyne 540 with Remote Mount Transponder Avidyne 322 (just my opinion the best GPS on the market just under the Garmin 750). Talk with Foreflight and the Avidyne app at the same time split screen. New antennas and new antenna wiring for both coms Secondary TKM 170 NAV COM with VOR Dual Flush mount G5's for AI and HSI - No more PESKY VACCUM SYSTEM PS Engineering 450B audio panel (dual blue tooth, 3d intelli audio etc) JPI 900 Flush Mounted engine monitor - No more unreliable gages Gami Fuel Tuned Fuel Injectors (lean or rich of peak) CiES Fuel Sending Units. The most accurate sending units you can have .... so between the JPI and the CiES you can have the best possible confidence in your fuel levels. Sensorco CO detector The new panel work included adding the rack for the Garmin GFC500 auto pilot control head. This plane will only need the long awaited autopilot itself to include the control head servos, and the trim/yaw options with no panel work to accommodate the unit. New Mags (both) 2018 New Ignition Harness 2018 Oil cooler relocation mod 2018 New Shock disk 2018 7. MSC maintained since I owned it! This plane is basically done the only thing I was going to do in the near term would have been the above autopilot (already scheduled for Jan - might be able to keep my time slot), patch/reseal/bladders on the tanks (Again I am scheduled for Jan patch at the time of GFC500). And, at some point in the future prop (this still requires the eddi current 100 hr (cost me about 250 every hundred hrs))/cowl/windshield mods. People will ask why and what I will fly next. I have an Ovation in the works so the F needs a new home. I might be open to a 3 or 4 way partnership if someone wanted to organize it as long as it was at DWH. Feel free message me here, email me at wcburgoyne@gmail.com or to call me at 713-805-3574. Carr

Mooney M20F w/ inop Rajay turbo normalizer
wcb replied to RCBass's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
That or just simply dropped it. Turbo's have extremely tight tolerances -
@Jonny will this work or STC for an F if you change spinner etc?
-
I would normally say go to Wiscasset (KIWI) and while in town go to Reds for Lobster Rolls, however not what I call walking distance (4 or 5 miles). I have no idea if with COVID they have crew cars etc. The FBO closed in may due to COVID and not sure if they opened back up.
-
And, in the Ovation world is the Eagle with sometimes a little more useful load.
-
Ok, I will play along. Since I own and F with turbo normalization buy an F with a RayJay Turbo. Seriously though we need more info. Like budget etc. I can dial it up or down the a turbo normalizer and really do enjoy it. I feel like I have as much room as I need and have useful load of over 1050. That being said when given an inch you want a mile. I always want more speed. If budget allows for the Encore (the top of variant of 231) it is a great machine or how about a Missile or Rocket? Of course I would love an Acclaim Ultra if you are handing them out. So, give us more info and we are happy to spend your money!!!!

Garmin A/P not for 1964 Cs and before?
wcb replied to GMBrown's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
I may be wrong but I think in 65 the actual building of the C was more refined and more process driven making the 65 and newer models were more standard. At least when I owned a 63 C that was part of my understanding of the history of why certain things were different for mine than a newer C. -
