  1. Very cool! That was one of my partners landing from taking a potential buyer up.
  2. I think he means set the plane to fly hands off with perfect trim even before you are in the flare. Trim it to fly hands OFF (Cruise and the Pattern) and ESPECIALLY ALWAYS on Final (DO NOT LAND HANDS OFF).
  3. My C is also IFR certified and yours is better equipped. Mine simply has the dual NAV/COM requirements kx155 with Glide slope and kx170b. I think the most basic IFR you can get! But, a great XO plane (especially for the $$$$)
  4. My plan is to add a JPI 830 or 900. Right now it has a basic 4 cyl EGT and CHT gauge
  5. I will be there around 9 this morning. You can PM me and let me know if you will be around of course I am happy to show off the new bird.
  6. I have called Bob. Thanks for the pictures as well.
  7. You are correct. I just added the 20C into the for sell section.
  8. Currently have a 1/3 interest available in my other plane 1963 M20C (pictures are in my album on here) for anyone that maybe interested. I think it will be a great deal for someone looking to fly on a budget. Here is the basic details of the partnership. Upfront cost $12k for plane, $500 deposit for maintenance and owners account and around $500 for 1/3 of the insurance. Monthly cost $200 to cover hanger exp, next basic annual (due April), and next insurance pmt plus $20 and hour (dry) for any extra items that come up in annual and future upgrades/rebuilds.
  9. I am based at Hooks in the Houston area and have recently bought a second plane which has a RayJay turbo. I am very pleased with my purchase seems like she is going to be a really good bird. My problem is that the owner cannot locate any info on the turbo. I have never flown a turbo and do not want to "Burn it Up" first time out. The previous owner mostly flew it without turbo and so far that is what I have done as well. Here are the basics 1976 M20F and the RayJay Turbo also installed in 1976. The pilot who flew the plane down from Utah said it worked flawlessly on his flight. Any help and advice would be great. BTW - I currently have a 1/3 interest available in my other plane 1963 M20C (pictures are in my album on here) for anyone that maybe interested. 10. I had to ask since Antares said his was the LoPresti and I thought yours might have been from Sabremech, who's cowl mod is it and do you have any performance and cooling info yet?
  11. Here is my $.02 since mine is also on the market. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/19619991/1963-mooney-m20c It all depends on what is important to you. I think at my price point mine is the best but they are certainly different planes for that extra 25k.
  12. Mine did this as well... Sent it out to Butler avionics... They worked two different times on it and finally said it needs a new board which really means it is doa ... Apparently the older ones had leaky parts that after almost 40 years of service just kills the controller board .... If yours is like mine it means it is time for either a referb 155 (about 2k) or wait on the tkm that comes out later this summer and will be a simple plug and play type option for about $3700. Of course could be time for that Garmin 650 you have always wanted.
  13. I am in Houston my 20C just went on the market as for sale or for partnership. I currently have a couple of people that would like to do a partnership and maybe looking at either a 50/50 or 1/3rds. You can see pictures here or on https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20C&listing_id=226 Also, congratulations ragedracer. I know you will enjoy her. I have enjoyed my 20c tremendously. So much so I might be staying in as a partner even after I get into my new one (the new one is a whole nother story for another day).
  14. I hanger over at Hooks and am willing to take you sometime. Also, my 20C just went on the market as for sale or for partnership. A local upholstery shop here in Spring. They have done some cars and a boat for me (they had done a few planes but this was the most extensive on plane they had done). I bought all the FAR'd material, brought them each item and they did the work in there shop.

  20. https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20C&listing_id=2267232&s-type=aircraft Here is a link to my M20C that I have listed. I have it listed at 37k or I will stay in it as a partner. This plane is mechanically in tip top shape (if it were not I obviously would not stay in as a partner) and has a new interior. You can also see some of my pictures on here. Would be nice to add a G430W and fresh paint but other than that I would fly it anywhere.
  21. I just did mine as well. I kept it simple with the seats but did everything in leather. Black leather yokes and everything else in tan leather. When I say everything in leather what I mean is wrapped the plastic window trim, side panels, post trim etc. (everything but the new tan carpet). I need to get a few more since I have also recently my m20c on the market.
