  1. Two events near the same area same day. Not a good day in Fort Bend County yesterday. One DEA Cessna and one RV. https://www.click2houston.com/news/plane-with-3-dea-agents-on-board-crashes-into-vehicles-near-sugar-land http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2018/
  2. The primary reason we do not have high speed rails is that the freight company's actually own/run the actual tracks. The tracks themselves are built for heavy freight and lower speeds. In most places if freight and passenger are on the same rail it is the passenger train that has to yield to freight. The only way to truly get high speed here is a new set of tracks built only for high speed. Texas is now trying to add high speed between Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and back (a big loop).
  3. NIce...and even better TWO Kool Scoops
  4. Do you have pictures? What is the best way to cut the plastic? Basically yours is in your seat pocket (or other storage) and slide it in on the ground?
  5. I think you were lucky to have clouds. They add depth and perspective. They are all great pics. Pick one ...#5 for me
  6. Anyone else have Kool Scoop issues. It seems the "neck" is to short for proper a proper fit.
  7. Where in east TX? Don Maxwell in Longview is the East Texas Mooney Man. Might be nice to add location to your avatar.
  8. Was just reading a couple of threads when I thought....When everyone starts bringing up the age of their planes (mine is 42) (my old one was 54 when I sold). All I can think of is: It sure would be nice to have one of those two door Mooney's https://www.mooney.com Then SNAP back to reality!!!!!!!!!

    Cirrus Delivery

I think it is ..eaaaaaa .... ok and all, but was hoping is was for the Cirrus JET
  10. Great info. Yes I think it is most likely over 500 hours (I really have no idea). I will check the log books when I get home.
  11. Must be over priced. No takers so far soooo how about $85
  12. Simple... Don't turn on the news!
  13. SOLD SOLD NOW $85 I have installed twin G5's and thus eliminated the need for a vacuum system. This system was working when removed. As you can see the filter is basically brand new with very few hours and installed 02/2018. Pump hoses gauge filter (in other words everything that was removed) It maybe worth rebuilding or use as is until it need rebuilding. Carr
  14. Also, shows how quick you can turn a stall into a spin if you do not react quickly enough. Simply based on my opinion of the video I do not think the instructor meant to do a spin he was simply to slow to react with the stall. I could not hear before the spin but it sound like all they were talking about was doing a stall.
  15. Tripp, I am based as are a few other Mooney folks over at DWH. I am happy to help in any way but here is a link from the Mooney Flyer http://themooneyflyer.com/cfi.html Also, one of the local check airmen here in Houston is a Mooney guy over near Cypress.
  16. I would like to see a before cowl, 1st cowl and cowl part duex. Cowl part duex more pictures, maybe a better angle (I know picky picky) What is the size difference? David @Sabremech, this is size we talked about?? I also have to say it would look really good with the landing light moved to the wing like John Breda's @M20F-1968
  17. I would like to see pics or yours. Why not post in albums? I know mine is not the "prettiest" but I put some in the album for posterity sake. I do enjoy seeing the restored ones that I will one day compete with.

    about to refuel.jpeg

    From the album: 76 M20F

About to refuel and just got back from D. Maxwell on 8/17/18
  19. That is what I thought! I will be going with the 450b. Thanks!
  20. Thanks, I was hoping someone that has owned both would respond. Simple is the key. We have enough in the cockpit already and don't need to keep another pilot guide handy.
  21. Ok I am trying to decide on my next step for upgrade. I am going to add an Avidyne IFD 540 but what to I control it with? I am thinking the PMA450B or PMA8000G. The things I like are the Intelli Audio, BT, recorded last few transmitions etc. not sure about flightmate. I like the new style display of the 450 and on the other hand I like the simplicity of traditional buttons of the 8000. Any thoughts from the crowd? Any thoughts on features. (Flightmate, Intelli Audio etc etc) List Price - Part # 050-450-0601 PMA450B $2,595 List Price - Part # 050-450-0602 PMA450B without BT2 $2449 List price - Part # 050-450-0701 PMA450B without Marker Beacon $2,495 List price - Part # 050-450-0702 PMA450B without BT2 and Marker Beacon $2349 List price for the PMA8000G is $2095
  22. Mine is all stock but with RAYJAY TN. I am getting 140 KTS indicated which on my last flight was 7500 ft at 66f degrees with 30.07 alt setting got me 162Kts TAS.
  23. Do you have a price range @acpartswhse
  24. Rarely you can find one on eBay or Barnstormes. I am not sure but would like to hear from the crowd on this: Unless you have the SABREMEC, Lo Presti, ARI, or 201 Cowl mod, is there really even a reason for the 201 Spinner. I know ARI sells a new spinner with their mod it cost $2000. I would think you should be able to find one from $500 (hard to find) to $1000 (roughly the most likely priced) to $1500 (Like new) used. Wouldn't it look a little off because it sticks out and would have a large gap for the stock cowl or the LASAR cowl (which is what Mark has)? Does anyone have pictures of anyone doing just the spinner with out the 201 cowl?
  25. Does some modification of this work???
