  1. That is what I assumed. 1975 loaded is way different than 2018 loaded for sure.
  2. When I called LoPresti it is what one of the guys told me no turbo's not even RayJay TN. I even think it was one of the LoPresti's (but not for sure). From our conversation I concluded that it as not in their STC, as well as room and a heat issue. He was fairly quick with me and somewhat dismissive since I was asking about the turbo. I would love to hear from anyone that has it. Certainly would love to hear more about the speed, cooling and if it can be used with a RayJay turbo (and the guy was just being dismissive)
  3. I have heard from one MS'r that they do not help with cooling. Also, they are not available for ANY turbo. They are pretty and they at least look fast! I have a 76 F with TN thought it would be nice until they told me about the no turbo thing. BTW- what is "SE"
  4. Here is the current approved Avionics list from the document section of their website. Looks like they are going to be very competitive and based on recent exchanges it looks like they are going to start on them sooner than later ! 1.0 Avionics Compatibility......................................................................................... 9 1.1 Garmin ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.1 GNS 430W ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.2 Apollo CNX 80 / Garmin GNS 480 ..................................................................... 9 1.1.3 GTN 750 ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.4 GTN 650 ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.5 GNS 530W ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.6 GNS 530W ........................................................................................................ 9 1.1.7 Garmin 500 ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.8 Garmin 510 ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.9 GARMIN 550........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.10 GARMIN 560........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.11 Garmin 660 ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.12 Garmin 795 ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.13 Garmin 796 ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.14 Garmin G3X ........................................................................................................ 10 1.1.15 GARMIN GPS 55 ................................................................................................. 10 1.1.16 GARMIN GPS 90 ................................................................................................. 10 1.1.17 GARMIN GPS 92 ................................................................................................. 11 1.1.18 GARMIN GPS 150 ............................................................................................... 11 1.1.19 GARMIN GPS 155 ............................................................................................... 11 1.1.20 GARMIN GNC 250 .............................................................................................. 11 1.1.21 GARMIN 250XL .................................................................................................. 11 STC GROUP LLC Page 3 12558 N. 5. I got the update from Trio as well. He said he thinks it will most likely be the fall of this year and then followed up with this email: __________________________ If you are on any chat boards with the Mooney folks let them know that we are working with ex-Mooney people and some folks that still work at Mooney in Kerrville. We will be doing the prototyping at FletchAir in Comfort, Texas. The FletchAir folks are assisiting with the Grumman project. As soon as we complete the Grumman project we will be launching into either the T Tail Lance or the Mooney. The development cycle is pretty long since we are really anal about safety. So I don’t want to make promises I cannot keep. We are looking at project schedules right now and trying to determine what a project takes to complete going forward. P ________________________________ I gave him the production numbers of Mooney's so he can compare that with the T tails and then I told him simply reference controller.com and notice there are a total of 16 Lances on the market with only 9 T tails. Their are currently about 80 Mooney's on the market that an STC could easily cover. Competition is heating up!
  6. Pretty cool tool but it is missing some items for my bird. 2 G5's, Gami, JPI EDM 900, and RayJay TN. It also looks like full retail value or MSRP verse what most of the CB community are looking to pay. That being said anyone have a clue what the above items add to the retail price (I of course know it is not the full cost of each that was installed [if so I have a plane for sale])?
  7. And it brings the competition to the market place so you are not so dependent on brand S, brand C or brand G.
  8. Taken from their website. Vizion Features: Bank Angle Select (if no GPS signal) Track Select GPS Nav (Point to point type flight plans) GPSS (Roll steering commands) Vertical Speed Select Altitude Hold Altitude Select Altitude Pre-Select GPSV (LPV Approaches) Control Wheel Steering Emergency Level AEP (Bank Angle Protection Mode) Roll Servo Pitch Servo Install Kit Wiring Harness And here is Youtube
  9. Trutrack announcement today! PA-28, PA-32, 175, AND ALL 172's UPDATE We just received our STC! That means we are ready to start shipping product! Our documents are live on our website and you can find those by clicking So, I emailed how about the Mooney and this is their response. Mooney is NEXT!!! Finishing up the 180, 182, 185 in the super near future, the Mooney is coming into our facility next week. Andrew Barker President / CEO TruTrak Flight Systems ____________________________________________________________ We plan to start taking pre orders for the Mooney as soon as we figure out exactly which models we will be addressing in the initial STC. Should be ready to start accepting those in the next 30 days. Andrew Barker President / CEO TruTrak Flight Systems
  10. Breaking the bank is a relative term. Can someone say Lo Presti Cowl $16,000!
  11. Did you see this one on Mooney Pilots? It just came up. Use mooneyspace, mooneypilots, controller, aso, barnstormers, tradeaplane, aerotrader, ebay, craigslist and I am sure I am missing some. http://mooneypilots.com/sales/Gravino.html
  12. Well I have to say if you are looking at E's this one is one that has to be looked at. What a job they have done. A bit pricey, but the most modern E on the market. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/21352509/1966-mooney-m20e-super-21
  13. Well turns out I lost almost 10 pounds just by adding the JPI 900 and getting rid of all the gauges allowed. I expect to loose more on the G5's install and removal of some of the older equipement (ADF and DME as well). Also, after the JPI install the refueled to the perfect 32 gal per side and I probably had at least a couple gallons per side. Therefore my deduction is that when the line fills me to the tip top I am actually several gallons over max fuel per side. Although calculating at 32 per side and getting say 35ish per side only adds up to 36 pounds it turns out to be an inaccurate calculation.
  14. To bring this thread back to life. I will ask: 1. I cannot find where 100LL is actually 5.82 lbs, is this true and what sources? 2. What other things have people done to put their planes on diets?
  15. How about labor cost? Adding the CiES after the JPI install?
  16. I think this discussion begs the question for us less flexible pilots (and that there is an STC or a mod for almost everything). For those of us that have the poorly located selector and the homegrown handle to switch tanks (still a PITA) is there a mod to move it to the proper location. I know the cost is probably more than prohibitive and most people would never do it, however there would be those select few.
  17. That maybe true on older F's but mine is nothing of the sort. 76 F cowl is easy and quick.
  18. +1 That looks amazing. Would you mind sharing with us what he's charging for a paint job like this?
  19. I am still curious if you are going to put this one on the market or keep her for yourself?
  20. I might have missed the middle ground of putting it on a Semi Truck? Of course the price has to be right!
  21. When traveling with the full family take on 10 less gal of fuel or about an one hour shorter time period between stops. With the full family you know someone will want a pit stop (more than two people always means someone has a bladder off of the timing of everyone else). Being in Houston I would say AC is to valuable of an accessory to remove and to add them to existing plane are almost cost prohibitive. Does it have the 108 gal tank? If you went with even only 90 gal you still get about 5 hours of flight time. If it has the 89 gal tank then you get about 4 hours if you take off 10 less than full (how does 4 hours fit with everyone's bladder).
  22. Amcharts.com is one website or Google "where I have visited map" is step one. Then save that as a picture file and then add it in you signature section of your profile on this site.
  23. I think there is a topic on here that goes through the how to of how to add the map. For me personally I only add the places I have landed as PIC. As far as the bladders I am in the same boat and trying to make the final decision between bladders, reseal or patch.
  24. Is the 10k for bladders plus install and are you doing standard 64 gal(or the 10 gal add on)? Also, do you have the current weights?
