I'll take a set if available.

Just do a spot repair. I can do it yourself with an A&P looking over your shoulder. It's not hard just takes time. You can get the stuff at Aircraft Spruce.

This can happen to an unbalanced tire.

Damn that's high. They must have looked at it and said I need to pay for a week vacation in Hawaii. So it's going to be 41,000. You know I have to pay for that 700 per day rental car in Hawaii. Try Corona aircraft engines at Corona airport they are very fair.

Mine is a o-360 and anything over 6 Qts. ends up on the belly.

I'm one of those people sitting on the side lines waiting to see what happens. I have a '68 M 20 C with an Aspen 1000 pro and 2 Garmin 430's. I would like to install Dynon 2 10" screens (like pilot 101 has) I also have more money in the plane than it's worth the plus side is I know everything that's done on the plane. It's my hobby and plane for life. I'm sure there are crazy people out there just like me putting more money into the plane than it's worth. When the auto pilot comes out many more Mooney drivers will pony up the money for this just like me.

Damn, both pilot and passenger have shoulders harnesses and no using them.

I almost have that problem, when I get close to the airport ATC gives me instructions that's the time my wife is screaming in the head set and I can't hear ATC

Just overhauled mine at American Propeller in Redding just a few days ago. 3 Blade is very smooth. They used this new grease which I looked on line to try to get and couldn't find any for sale. It's NYCO GN3058 white in color. It looks like a new kind of grease.

M20E Main tire tube size and stem
Don Heene replied to takair's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Got my tube at Aircraft Spruce a year ago just to have on hand and when I needed it, just recently discovered it had a leak in it before putting it in the new nose tire ( Manufacture defect) Note to self check the tube as soon as you get them. Aircraft Spruce will not take them back if a year old. $99.00 lesson learned the hard way. -
Thanks for the info..

Hey Mooney spacers, I think I'm going to have my prop (Hartzell) IRAN or overhauled. Nothing has been done to it since new (1996) 3 blade with about 700 hours on it now. (Of course annuals greased the fittings, blade tracking and checks) Last greased with Aeroshell 6 per maintenance manual at annual in Aug. 2020. Has a small leak on one of the blades and looks like it has a fine mist on the cowling (very tiny brown spots) This happened on the last 2 flights. Already wiped it off have no pics. I think this might be oil and not grease coming from the blade. Looking for a shop close to Lincoln airport in Northern California, any recommendations? Thanks in advance, Don

Oil pressure/Prop Gov issue
Don Heene replied to Robert Hicks's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Pull off the oil suction screen between the firewall and the engine it might be clogged. -
The best scooter I have is the E-Twow scooter or booster scoter. It goes 20 mph up to 18 miles. Only 27 lbs. folds real nice in the Mooney. Bad thing is they run about 990.00 for a good one.

I must love to work on airplanes, or I’m just crazy!

I think those gloves are rated at about 105. I'm surprised they are not melted:) I use a spray water bottle to spray myself down when it gets hot, you should get a swap cooler. I got one in my hanger and it works great. -
New runway but still bumpy. I think they used a 6" level to level the runway. Taxiway is very bumpy if you taxi fast you could have a prop strike. Also the restaurant had a lot of bees flying around on the patio when I was there. Bring your bee keeper suit or bug spray:)

4 mile final and the Johnson Bar comes apart
Don Heene replied to Ned Gravel's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Thanks for sharing, now we know if this happens to me it can be put back together in the air. I would like to know how it came apart. That will help us all. -
The downside of good ANR headsets

Looks like the tire needed re-balancing. That might be the heavy side.
