M20F Fuel Stick - I know I know

Change the four gaskets annually. Adjust the caps to be properly tight. Make sure caps are not cocked. Sump your tanks. This gadget is NOT necessary. Compressed air. Funny. Just be a little careful when removing cap after outside. MAAN-Much ado about nothing...

The guy knows exactly what he did. Flustered? I think not. I have a sound, safe method to know what number to put into my totalizer. I can then monitor consumption with my totalizer during flight. I don’t value his product. I do value my free stick and totalizer on top of my functioning fuel gauges in my plane. I value his product just about a much as electric cars. Hey, things change. Better always? NOPE. -

Seriously people are utterly amazing. I try and help you by providing what you wanted (albeit for a 26 gallon tank) and the guy makes shit out of me and I am a dick for coming back at him? There is a place to market on this website. That is EXACTLY what he was doing. I would not have given a shit except that he specifically called MY POST out (you know the one where I responded to a request you made) and I am the unpleasant one. Passive aggressive is the worst kind of “mean” out there. HE KNOWS IT NOW, if he didn’t know it then. No minds were changed here. Face palm.... Glad you got your “stick”. Now go and stick it. That’s a play on words. Butt hurt. Now THAT’s funny. -
Every year at annual. Same as the fuel cap gaskets.

Yes. That is how it “Seals the opening properly. I can see my gasket on mine behind the door.

How do you log something like this? I purchased the seal material from a Mooney Service Center when it needed replacement. This seems reasonable, but O.K. In a certified plane?

Is there an stc to remove the cooling shroud?
MyNameIsNobody replied to Keith20EH's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
My ‘66 E has doghouse. ZERO temp issues with engine. My A&P services/maintains engine and doghouse. I would be interested in Sabre Cowl with relocation of oil cooler/elimination of Ram Air/Relocation of Air Filter IF/WHEN the hint of oil temp issues are resolved and speed increase documented. Aesthetically it is a home run. They are working through “issues” on “first up” prototypes. I am confident that in final iteration it will be: Better looking/Faster/as cool as OEM. Sabre is NOT a “full-time” Mod guy. He is a dabbler doing overtime. He gets mad at me for challenging the concept (I do it out of love and hope for perfection) which I understand because he is not doing this full time...I am a believer that THIS is the ultimate way to mod a vintage Mooney and “lose” the doghouse and additional exterior drag... Check it out. -

Actually being sincere in the last sentence. My OEM senders and gauges still provide some accuracy. The totalizer is set and fuel burn used documented and timed. My gauges read most accurate at empty. Totalizer AND tank along with visual inspection and stick work for me. How much worry do I have about venting/leaks resulting in an off field landing? Zero/Zip/Zilch/Nada...R U Serious with that? Right up there with the phantom stick splinter in goofy stuff to be concerned about... -

here I go on my final strike. Flying a 50+ year old plane that I have updated tremendously in the name of safety and function. I take exception to your little bitch statement “The World Changes”. No shit Sherlock. I embrace technology when it makes sense. Form follows function. A recognized need at a value is worthwhile. I see ZERO value in your product. The stick works. If you think that fuel exhaustion incidents are happening because old stuck in the “old days” asshats are “sticking their tanks” I say bullshit. Let’s get together sometime and you can roll some more great stuff my way. That would be awesome. Or not. -

Own and use the hell out of my IPhone. Uber is taxi of choice while traveling. The fuel stick just works. I visually inspect the fuel and sump tanks before every flight. Even if Ap on phone was free I will continue to use the stick along with my fuel totalizer in the plane. My method has never let me down. I was ridiculed so I responded clearly telling how I felt. If that is “nasty” to you I say wonderful. You have led a sheltered and wonderful life. Good for you. -
I didn’t fly today, but I just want to say: It’s a GREAT day to be an American.

15 years of use. Answers: No, Yes, but a nitwit 16 year old rear-ending me will too and likelihood is actually real unlike the “phantom splinter”. Can an IPhone open a bottle or a can too? Some stuff just makes me laugh. Yes 100% agree it’s a whatever floats your boat. Fuellevel wants to troll me...I told him what I think of his gadget... The end. -

Ya, I do. It is accurate. Simple and F.R.E.E. Take your gadget and market it to someone that cares. #unnecessarywaste -

Geez Captain downer...How about another thread for the dead? This bird is flyin’ and winnin’ and being enjoyed by a proud owner. -
My sage advice is stop talking about it and do “it”. Find a decent F and buy it. Learn to fly it and use the %^&* out of it before you become your dad. DO IT.

Great photo of you two. Beth needs to thumbs up more photos. She and your plane BOTH look beautiful. You are definitely coming in 3rd Tom (THAT is what winning looks like). Congrats on your successful Oshkosh and friends gathering with your plane. Just an enormous accomplishment. I was up bird hunting with my son this weekend. Northern Wisconsin felt like summer sans bugs. Trees an ground cover are still 100% green. Made for tough gunning, but we had fun. Wisconsin victory over Iowa was a plus. -

Water leak on bagage door latch

I am going with door #2 (Vent over the latch). Especially with a cover over the baggage door. -
Humans have the ability to FUBAR any task. Have you seen some of the attempts to extricate from or into a parking spot? Add in another dimension and Mooney pucks and let the fun begin. EVERYONE has bounced their Mooney, but hey if you were alone and nobody but Nobody witnessed it....Didn’t happen. No prangs, no foul. Carry on.

Did you pay even close to the asking price? I bought the unit and a nav head from a guy that had gupped his Mooney and it was pulled shortly after install. My A&P did install. All in I was about a grand Maybe less as it has been a few years... I would do again as I did all for a shoestring compared to current “ask” on stuff. In my opinion they should be basement prices with new autopilots coming out vs. where “this guy” is. Again my opinion is worth zero so if this seller thinks that is a “fair” price and a buyer is out there. GOOD FOR THEM... Would I do now? NOPE. In February of 2017. Maybe if price was right...
