Tracked down on eBay. Paid $35 for three. Should have bought all 9 they had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My flaps quit working a few weeks ago. Luckily they were in the up position. Tracked it down to the micro switches “I hope”. It turned into them not working at all to intermittent when we would tap on the up micro switch. Got a good price on them so we decided to change out both. Glad I did because when I took the down micro switch out it fell apart. Everything seems to be working consistently now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry I’m not smart enough to know what the issue is with the two speeds. But it’s a good complaint to have non the less... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My 2020 flying exploits started out sloooooow. I never flew for the first 19 days. I’m sure I took it out on everyone around me..... But since then I have put 23.3 hours on the plane. Still less than a lot and I wish it was more but all but one of the flights were cross country’s. Exactly what the Mooney was made for. This morning I woke up to my alarm at 4:30 to prep the plane for my first Angel Flight West transport. I was flying the first leg and I had to be in Spokane Washington around 7:30am. I wanted to be wheels up by 6. The benefit I was bringing them back to my home airport for the start of the second leg. That meant I would be obligation free after 10:30, I had the full day off work. So a buddy and I flew up to Hood River for a late lunch at Twin Peaks. It’s a restaurant right next to the field. If you ever have the excuse to stop I recommend it. The Angel flight patient didn’t want any pictures taken. I couldn’t be more understanding of their privacy. But I did get some pictures of the sun rising. One of the best ways to start the day! I do my best every flight to prepare myself to lower my gear. If I have a passenger with me I tell them they have one job and that’s to make sure I lower the gear before we land. Not to sound like a jerk but my insurance or anyone else’s insurance rates is pretty much the last thing on my mind when I am flying. There are people out there with tons more experience than I will ever have that have landed gear up, so I know it can happen to me. Two months ago I passed 500hrs total time. I know that makes me ripe for a big mistake that could cost someone their life. If I ever do land gear up someone else’s insurance rates ticking up will never cross my mind till someone brings it up in a Mooney Space thread. I think if you ask anyone that has had an accident in their plane bringing that up probably erks them. There are so many more things out there in aviation more important than your insurance rates. That being said I would love for no one to ever land gear up. But not because it will help my insurance rates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Few Monday’s ago flying home from Las Vegas headwinds we’re terrible!!! Made the usual 5 hour flight home 6.5 plus a fuel stop in Derby. Never saw anything faster than double digit ground speed. The up and down drafts were 1,500ft per/minute consistently. My auto pilot was having fits. I stayed VFR and pretty much let the winds have their way with us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is a great looking Mooney pic there.... I think I should get royalties, or discounts on products sold from it..... I installed them two years ago and love them. Highly recommend them to anyone thinking about purchasing them. -
Weather pending I’ll be there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If your hub is only leaking I would put the order in for an MT. You’ll have plenty of time on your current prop by the time it arrives. Sorry to hear about your new issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Monday Shareena, Emmalyn, and I flew back from Roseburg. Sadly we were there seeing family in the hospital. There was an over cast layer of about 1000’. It was the first actual I’ve had in months. Maybe spring is coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saturday I had my second cross country of the year. I made plans to meet some Mooney pilots in Lake Havasu for lunch. Sorry @EricJ for the poor situational awareness..... I flew down to Vegas with two buddy’s but one of them was a little to hungover to be in a plane. So Wayne and I met up with @MrRodgers and @Skates97 there was three other Mooney’s tied down but didn’t get to meet their pilots. The food is always good at Hangar 24 and highly recommend it. It’s an easy airport to get into and cheap fuel. As I was entering the downwind on the 45 a LSA was landing straight in on 32. He called a “short” 4 mile final. I was looking at his ground speed of 40 knots. I thought about cutting in front of him but I was the bigger pilot and extended, and extended, oh an extended my downwind to accommodate him:) The flight back to KVGT I was hoping to get the transition from Henderson straight north to VGT. It’s cool to fly right over the strip and McCarran but they routes us to the west after Vegas approach handed me off to tower they said I would be number two for 12R I was given vectors for base. About that time tower came back and said 1NU we are going to change things up, you are number 1 go straight to the numbers. I was about 4500msl so I pulled the throttle back to slow down, dropped the gear and slipped her down. The ForeFlight track looks like a perfect extended final into runway 07. But about 10 feet north of RWY 12R I snapped it around and made a perfect landing. I thanked the controller for the fun approach, in a very sexy voice she said you’re welcome:) Sorry for the upside down pictures, hopefully Marauder or Carusoam fix them...

Friday I had my first cross country of the year and only second flight of 2020. Two friends and I flew down to Las Vegas for some playing and working on my house. All week it was forecasted to have 30+kt tailwinds but that didn’t happen. It was still a good flight. As always on my cross country flights I fly for max endurance and run a tank dry. I brief the passengers of the engine sputter to come. And show them it’s a non event and we keep flying onward. The three of us, 30lbs in baggage and 50lbs of flying equipment I only put on 50 gallons of fuel. It was a four hour flight down and still had almost 2 hours of fuel left in the plane after touch down. God I do love my Mooney!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
