  1. This was my round robin a few weeks ago. During the flight DJB was the only fix I crossed twice. I had to divert south of EON for weather coming home. Longest leg was 8.2 hours with stock tanks in a J. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have a step or two before that too. But I’ll prep the surface before a lay the walk down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Bare aluminum that probably hasn’t seen the light of day since it was on the assembly line in Kerrville. A few screws getting resealed then rolling the walk on Sunday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sad times... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Always love seeing pictures where 4PT takes you! When I landed in Penn Yan a few weeks ago this turbine was taking off. I almost thought it was you when I first saw it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Good call, I wrapped it by myself so it was easier to go bigger. I didn’t think about the evaporations though. I’ll buy dinner if you want to come help... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. @Sven per your technique I’ve started the removal. I just checked the situation after 4 hours and there were some dry spots and I think some spots that didn’t get enough remover on it. So after dinner I’m going to pull up the saran wrap scrap up the loose stuff and put some more remover in it for the evening.

  9. Is the Chinese company still in charge of the parts going out of the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If I get this pressure system, I could put a tee on the pressure side, hook them up to both the bleeder screws press the brake peddles and make sure I don’t over flow the reservoir and pull the tail down and it should bleed the brake system? Asking because I need to replace the seals in one of my calipers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I think so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. If you’re concerned about them damaging the seat you can take a grinder and smooth that spar out.... good to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I didn’t realize they made a mini molex plug. That might work. I ordered a deutsch connector and see how that works out first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Dang I didn’t even think about a Lemo connector. I ordered a deutsch connector. I decided to go with the 20g. If this doesn’t work then I’ll use a Lemo connector. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Trim switch has stopped working again. The down trim micro switch crapped out. This time the hangar fairy is looking to install a six wire connector where the wires come out of the left side yoke handle and goes into the yoke shaft. I want the smallest six wire connector I can find, so it doesn’t get in the way and rub on my leg or knee pad. I’m going to use 24 gauge wire to get as slim of a connect I can find. 17. Firewall on the throttle, any time I’m above 11,000msl I run 2500 RPM’s lower I use 2450. I was at 14,000msl and probably could have leaned down to 6gph before the engine started getting rough. But the LOP power curve drops way off past 25 degrees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I’ve been a little behind on my flight posting. This month so far I’ve flown the 201 45.3 hours. Large contrast from my March, April, and May flights were I think I flew once each of those months. I sometimes enjoy just flying local but I prefer xcountry flights. That’s the mission I had when I started looking for my Mooney years back and she fits it to a tee. 30.7 and 3,750 miles of this months flight time was a trip I took to see my uncle. He was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. Sadly he’s a life long smoker and hate to see my family goin through this. But it gave me an opportunity fly from Oregon to New York. I was hoping for more travel time but I was only able to be in Penn Yan NY for 25 hours. Then it was back home. My first leg from Oregon to Minnesota was 6.9 hours and that wasn’t my longest leg by 1.3 hours. From De Moines Iowa to Twin Falls Idaho I flew for 8.2 hours, I landed with 9 gallons of fuel. My shortest leg was 2 hours and that was my final leg from Twin Falls to home KGCD. The weekend after that trip I was back in the air to fly 940 miles down to Sacramento to help@thinwing on his annual. This months travel would have been impossible in a car and would have been much harder via commercial due to my home location. But the Mooney made it all possible!!!! 19. Awesome. I will get on it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. How hard is it to get the screws out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I finally have a hangar I can let my plane sit in for weeks to replace my wing walk. But my new problem some of my top tank screws are leaking. What is the best way to seal these up? Strip the wing walk off try and back those affected screws out and dab a little tank sealer on them?
  22. Well that kind of defeats the purpose of MS doesn’t it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My family has a house in Watkins Glen, it actually backs up to the nascar track. But I’m going to Penn Yan. It would be great to meet up on another trip. I will check out the museum if I have time. Thanks Mike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah I’m trying to make sure they do the test correctly so there is no damage. So you’re saying there is really no difference in the pitot test on a plane that has an airspeed safety switch vs one that doesn’t as long as they don’t hammer it with sudden pressure? Or are you saying there needs to be positive pressure on the pitot side at all times even when testing tor static side and that’s the difference if you have an airspeed safety switch? Many planes prove you don’t have to bench test the equipment but I bet it gives you a far more accurate test. I like the vibrator for the altimeter on the long climb up to 20,000msl and back down. 25. Don’t forget the required procedure corse you have to take with a certificate that must me in the plane with you. I’m looking forward to circle around the Statue of Liberty. Hopefully I can fit both the transition and the NYSFRA and get two different altitude prospectives. But we’ll see how it goes. I definitely don’t want to hit a helicopter....
