  1. I did an 1889nm trip from Oregon to New York last month. Was in Penn Yan for 25 hours then went back to Oregon. Took 30.7 hours round trip. Challenge if you except, I’ll buy you lunch..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Well if you get out of annual what better way to test everything with a long water crossing... I’ll be in Vegas till the 16th if you do finish up and want to meet in Lake Havasu again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. They have a restaurant at the airport. Some of us will be spending the night and going into town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Clear your schedule and come to Catalina September 13th for a Buffalo burger or a salad... Some of us will be flying formation to the island, if you are interested let me know. I’ll be flying out of North Las Vegas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Congrats and welcome as an owner. Beautiful plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Congrats on the new plane!!! We have a very active formation group in the Seattle area if you are interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Is that the plane you flew down to Chehalis and met Jeremy and I in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hell yeah! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Back when I was younger this would have been a Charlie weight, but now it’s a Charles weight......[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sorry I cant stop with the dad jokes... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Is the STC conversion prop specific? I’m looking at an O2 with the 310hp upgrade. It has the 3 blade Hartzell. I would like to put an MT prop to help bump up the UL. Do ovations have Charlie weights? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My walk wasn’t in overly good shape, I had a few bare spots and 7 screws that were leaking. So it was a no brainer for me to strip. But if I was just freshening the walk up I agree with you I would just paint over it. Hopefully when I paint the plane I will do a matched color walk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yes those screws were leaking before I stripped the walk. I asked the person who started this thread if he ever had a problem with the stripper damaging his tanks using this stuff and he said no. So hopefully I will get the same result. I’ll know in 7/10 days and let you know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Lol, I said July 20th 2017 in this thread replacing my wing walk was going to be my next project. Well that was found to be a lie!!!!:) but I finally got it done today.

  15. Yes I would like to see AF to be able to reimburse pilots and drivers. If you look through their tax reports they could afford it. Specially when they ask me to “donate” just over $400 to play a round of golf. If pilots are the back bone of the organization then I imagine they could have a few people updating the schedule app and website to process new and current volunteers. I guess I just don’t see the constant need for the organization having so much cash income when volunteers are the strength of 501c. Dont get me wrong I think it’s a great organization for those who need it. And I enjoy helping out. I love having a mission for my flights. I just think they would get even more pilots helping out if they could reimburse pilots for their fuel. And isn’t that the point of their charity goal? More pilots mean more patients transported. 16. Last year I became a command pilot for Angel Flight West. Like everyone said it’s super rewarding. When they stopped providing flights due to the covid scare I still provided a few medical flights for the locals in my community. There are a few pilots I know that would like to provide this service but can’t justify the expense. I would like to see Angel Flights to use their vast power and some of their donations help AOPA to allow pilots to be reimbursed for at least their fuel and still have a tax write off. 17. I’ve used permatex on a friends tank and the screws still leaked. I didn’t want to deal with this again after I put down my new wing walk so I figured actual tank sealer would be the way to go. That way the wait time on the permatex to dry just enough to run it in isn’t as critical because the sealant will still dry without o2. But maybe I’ll be due for a complete reseal job if I screw it up enough:) Hope all is well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I concur. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Lol, that works the best I hear.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I’m replacing my wing walk. I stripped it to bare aluminum to help reseal a few fuel leaking screws. Wondering what good mixing techniques or tips on application so I don’t have to do it again anytime soon. The ratio on the cans say 100:10, the smallest order I could make was 15oz’s but that seems like overkill for a few screws so I was only going to mix half at a simpler 10:1. Always appreciate any help I can get for the first time I do something with the plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Lol now things make sense..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Oh I’m sure you spend money elsewhere, but I’m sure it sounds cool for you to say it.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. As far as I know they don’t make ones for the outside of the mains that would be facing down with the gear retracted. But that’s only the little bit of info I know:) The LASAR hub caps are sold as a set. Two for the nose gear one side has a hole for the axle to go through and one on each of the main. 24. My problem ended up being the trim switch. One of the micro switches was dead. Used Brad’s diagram he drew from the thread he posted on my thread and rewired three new micro switches together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I bought the LASAR aluminum hubcaps then scratched them up and painted them with black texture paint two years ago. Still holding up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
