  1. No, it is not location specific.
  2. Second radio (SL30) does not have the issue.
  3. Tried many settings with the same or slightly better result. Even with the squelch all the way up, it still breaks repeatedly. .
  4. Tried changing the squelch on that freq, but to no avai. It gets a little better, but not much. Swapping with someone else's unit is a good idea.
  5. Hopefully someone will have an idea... Garmin 430W. The squelch breaks constantly but only on 122.8. It has been to the shop and and set-up properly. This is the only frequency that is a problem. If I touch the radio, it gets better. Doesn't matter if the engines are on or off. Doesn't matter if the other radio equipment is on or off. it's driving me nuts and I hate that I can't figure it out.
  6. Drain a majority of the fuel through the sump. Level the plane and drain the rest through the strainer. You now have all the useable fuel out. This is your zero reading. Keeping the plane level (with jacks. If you run it up on ramps, the plane will settle with the weight of the fuel and your measusurements will be off) Fill 8, 16, 24, and 32 (don't top it off or your reading will be off). Let the fuel settle at each point. Fill out the table and you are done. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. The next time you go out and fly, try that and pay close attention. Regardless of were the ball is sitting, with the wings level and feet on the floor, watch for heading creep. My plane used to do what you are describing. The person before me had solved it by dropping the flap. Turns out, whole thing was out of rig, but the rudder was the main problem with the roll. Does plane act the same at idle and full power? Next thing to try: with the fuel balanced, accelerate the aircraft in a shallow dive and do about a 2G pull. (Don't do a loop unless you want to [emoji16]) The airplane should track straight ahead in the pull up. Next: if you're comfortable, bring the plane to a reasonably abrupt stall and see which way it wants to roll. Theoretically, it should stall straight ahead. This will also give you some clues about where to look in the rigging. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. Ok. If you hold the wings level, and leave your feet on the floor, does the airplane want to flat turn? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Does it act the same with the PC on and off? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. This is spot-on Byron. With the pilot shortage, that the airline's knew was coming years ago, there's a big push now to get people in the cockpit. This means rapid training. The ab-initio programs are fine, if you want systems managers but.... There's no way you can learn all the nuances of flying much less airline operations in 200 hours. Frankly, every pilot should be scared in an airplane at least once. That scare should not come in an airliner. Automation reliance is a problem. This is nothing new with the Advent of modern avionics. There's so little emphasis put on stick and rudder skills in flight schools anymore. In the end, that's what it will take to save your ass. I used to fly with quite a number of kids as my FO that were from the, "elite," schools. They were typically very good at bookwork and understanding the numbers but usually fell down when it came to hand flying the airplane. The pilot is the last line of defense against an errant automation issue. Without solid stick and rudder skills, this part of safety really falls on its face. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. Yep. I think we have 34 of them. Scrambling to cover flights affected by the grounding. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. According to Boeing, they will have a software update in 10 days or less for the Boeing 737 Max -8. Does that make it a, 737 Max-8.1? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. That's CRAZY, Tom! I can't count the number of times I cut myself working on planes and think nothing of it! Glad you are back flying again. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. Bummer. Glad no one was hurt. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. Do the custom molds. Night and day for noise cancellation and comfort! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. Can you get UV protected clear? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. YES!! I did the exact same thing, and it really ups the game in terms of comfort and noise cancellation! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Meatbomb... [emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. Why don't you guys ever have an impromptu fly-in in the midwest? Hmmmmm??? I see, you don't like us....
  20. That is a genius idea! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. It's the only time my plane gets washed!
  22. By hand. I didn't want to run the risk of digging in too deep with some kind of machine. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. I used Flitz on mine. Came out nice. Basically removing a small amount of material. Just be careful not to get waves from uneven polishing. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. You know it's cold when... You have to put food in the refrigerator to keep it warm. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
