  1. The G4 includes a ferrite filter. It appears to be installed correctly. Spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Insight today. Learned a bunch about the monitor and some direction to try. Chris@Marauder , you had a similar problem? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. Okay, so I found the source of the problem flying home last night. It's the Insight G4 engine monitor believe it or not. The next question is, why is it happening. The saga continues..... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Atlantic in MDW 7.50 landing. $20 facility (waived with 15 gallons) 20 overnight ramp and 15 security. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  4. I fly into Atlantic all the time in Midway for work. Park my plane there and then go to work. Great folks at Atlantic. I'm not sure what the regular rates are, I know Midway has a $7.50 landing fee. If the weather decides it wants to cooperate, I will be flying in there tonight. I can ask about fees. 6. A great way to force your brain into the proper decision making mode: Think of every decision as a bet. In other words, 'would I bet $10,000 the decision I'm about to make is the correct one?' If the answer is no, the problem is one of two things... 1.) You don't have enough information to make a proper judgment and decision. The solution is to get more information. 2.) It's the wrong decision. it's interesting what happens to your brain when you start thinking like this. Seriously changes your perspective on the decision making process. 7. If this is a change from normal operation, something definitely is amiss. As previously stated, check your oil pressure. I would put a manual gauge on it. That's the easiest and cheapest thing to check. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. I had this happen just the other day. It hiccuped fast enough it didn’t even show up on the engine monitor. After it happened, I decided to do an in-flight mag check and found that one of the plugs was fouled. With the engine monitor watching it was very easy to pick out the bottom number six plug. When I did this check, it would stop running on that cylinder then it would clear out and would run again. After doing a clean and gap on the plug, no problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. Flying a twin is a little like flying a taildragger. If you wait to use the rudder when the torque takes you, you will be in the bushes or ground looped before you know it. Same thing with an engine failure... But much more aggressive. It has to be instinct. Training and repetition is key. At a critical speed and engine out, If you step on the wrong rudder, you're dead. The video is hard to watch. All Vmc demos I have done never resulted in a roll that fast. That surprised me, but maybe the wrong rudder was applied. [emoji17] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  18. Yep! I had a MS member try and rope me into a political "discussion" at the MS meet-up at KOSH a couple years ago. Was pretty hostile about it. I just told him I was there to talk airplanes, not politics. We went our separate ways. Politics ruins enough stuff, let's not let it ruin aviation. We have the FAA for that.
