Made a flight to LVK yesterday to visit Mom for Mother's Day was almost eerie how little traffic was apparent. Monitoring different frequencies and not a peep. LVK tower is only open from 9 to 5 when we were about 15 miles out I made our first call after listening to the ATIS and first response was your cleared to land 25 right. As we were rolling out tower asked where do you want to park. Marine layer was way inland and we flew VFR on top.

How do you know you married the right woman?

You just know -
Would it be possible to get a settlement and then do a buy back with enough in the balance to allow for inspection and repairs. I did this years ago with a truck that was hit and since I did the work myself I came out ahead good luck sir

It looks shinier even from that distance

That was too good, now flatten the curve could be a good name for a race horse

Why would an F be one of the best load lifters and a J have such a low number like 760. For us our C carries 1010 we almost never carry a third pax other than our pup. As a two plus the short bodies are such sweet airplanes. Now a turbocharged short would be so fun to really ring out.

Such a terrible thing but you and your CFI worked as a good team controlled the outcome and walked away safe. As bad as you must feel right now I agree with the others that looks very fixable. Good luck to you

We're all tired, frustrated and sick of how this is playing out and there really isn't any end in site.i doubt we will ever see our country be free from some doctors recommended behavior. So let's try to keep the discussion civil. Just saw on our local news some unknown guy speaking for the governor about the slow re opening and he said if we abuse these privileges they will be removed again. Privileges are you frickin kidding me. My constitutional rights are considered a privilege. Nothing and I mean nothing gives these people the athority to take away our constitutional rights. I don't care how bad this virus is it doesn't give the governor the legal athority to take away our freedom. As people here in California are running out of patience our government is squeezing its grip even tighter. Trust me they don't want to ever give our rights back.

I think one of the biggest problems is a general sense of being hand tied and helpless and after all we are pilots and are accustomed to being able to control the outcome of even the worst situations. Never in our history have our leaders regardless of their political ideology had more power over the people they are supposed to be working for. I think they have long ago lost site of this and the power they now have over us has really amplified this to a very dangerous level.

And has made a BILLION dollar deal with a Chinese electric bus manufacturing company to produce PPE as if there aren't companies in CA that could do this. After all it's only the sixth largest economy in the world.

Thank you PT I'm really bad at attaching links last time I did that the thought police pulled the video. This whole thing sucks on so many levels kiss your freedom goodbye everyone our constitutional rights have effectively been destroyed by the... Ahh never mind I am so heart broken over what has happened and it's never going to get any better not ever. We have opened a Pandora's box and the government won't ever let us close it again. They have assumed absolute power which we all know corrupts absolutely. Mandatory testing mandatory vaccine tech companies actively tracing your every step your papers please, anyone ever hear those words before. We are so f....d
-
At some point the flood gates are going to open or break there won't be a vaccine and even if there is will we as free people be forced to take it. I don't like that thought one little bit. For all I know they might put something in it to convince me the world isn't flat. And all of us dutiful citizens that have sheltered and have not gotten the virus are going to get it sooner or later we made major decisions to shut everything down on very incomplete inaccurate models. Would more people have died in the short term if no intervention likely so in the long term well no one knows and we will never know because you can't do both approaches add to that we will never know how many people died with COVID as opposed to from it. F...King politicians have no intention of lifting stay at home orders here in California. Oh and let's not forget that the WHO originally advised that this virus was not transferred human to human.

Dr Birx commented on what Trump said her statement was that he is getting information constantly and only just heard information regarding UV and disaffection moments before the brief and his style is that he runs things over in his mind and tends to verbally analyze as he does. I do believe there is under development a ventilator that can have UV light cast into the lungs. I apologize for my crude terminology.
-
And the studies by Stanford and USC are they also without merit. Last I heard those were pretty reputable institutions and are also being equally discarded by the media and our trusty government health administrations. Dr Birx was quoted that we won't see normal until October which is interesting as that was the same expectation indicated by the Kern county health administrator in their comments refuting these two pretend doctors. If that's true this country is going to explode.

And I know you guys don't really want that for people and are working on this terrible situation with every bit of strength within you. But to listen to all the experts we are never going to get our lives back and the secondary affect of this the long term is going to be a disaster way worse than the medical issues of the virus.
-
What your doing is so impressive
-
Honestly, you guys and Fauci and Birx (spelling uncertain) won't be satisfied until half the population are on vents and the rest of us are killing ourselves because of total poverty. It's too bad that any good news or even hopeful news is just a pack of lies. Stupid f...ing Chinese virus. And of course no one will hold them responsible for what they unleashed on the world.

Had this problem about a year ago and this was with a fairly new down lock block from Lake Aero. Would not give me the green light unless I made a real deliberate upward push. A little tri flow on the slider and problem went completely away.

Oh, I guess if you just make a stupid iPad comment then the link starts working

So, I guess,we will just sit tight what choice do we have remember we voluntarily gave away our rights cause doctors orders. Watch as the fed keeps printing unheard of amounts of money piling debt on top of debt which will lead to unprecedented inflation that will carry over for generations. I'm more than happy to keep my mouth shut when I don't know what I'm talking about so long as the discussion is of no consequence to my life and our collective freedom. The long term effects of this shut down could be far more dangerous to people's health in terms of emotional depression people taking their own lives the devastating effect on our healthcare system and I don't mean from overwhelming them with the pandemic but because people stop going for fear of the virus or like in your case not wanting to be a bother and when all those millions of people who lost thier jobs no longer have health care insurance or the company's that used to provide that insurance are no longer there what will be the long term effects on the health of our people be then. If the fatally rate ends up being a fraction of one percent instead of the two to five percent that we were originally told because the models were formed without any real idea of the number of people that actually had the virus not to mention the questionable methods for counting the number of people who tragically have passed with the virus but not necessarily because of it. Well there is a lot at stake a lot more than the virus itself. And yes the second opinion was tongue and cheek Billy Bob Sanitation department

I too look forward to better times my fear which is shared by millions of people is that we have allowed fear to dictate an outcome that we may never be able to recover from. Please explain to me why there is such a huge difference between California and Ny / NJ. I'm so sorry I don't have your education and all I can do is form an opinion based on what all the experts are telling us that we have to do. What gets my goat is how condescending they sound when they speak about how inconvenient this is how they just really don't care one bit about this situation beyond the medical side of it. Every time it's oh just a few more weeks oh maybe the end of the month oh maybe the end of June. You are all doing so well following our direction just hang in there we are so proud of you. Please tell me that we can develop an effective vaccine and if we do perhaps we will cure the common cold and aids while we're at it. Never in my life have I seen my constitutional rights taken away so easily. And what really scares me is how much I get a sense that the politicians would really like to keep it this way. Actions speak louder than words. As a medical professional do you get offended when your patient might want to get a second opinion.

ILC please stay out front I have always appreciated your comments on many fronts and obviously your knowledge here would be most valuable. When I started this I was suffering from a severe toothache and my dentist was closed because of the virus. This lasted for several days due to an infection this can sure make one into an angry bear. Whatever your doing out there we appreciate it and hope for your strength and endurance.

Practice practice practice besides it's fun. I like to land with flaps set differently on purpose sometimes none sometimes half sometimes full paying close attention to how Snoopy responds. Our field is 3500 feet and never have a problem making the mid field exit You can do this

Yes that's a shame. Folks have been very civil with expressing their views on what is a very sensitive and challenging subject. Is it related to aviation or Mooneys no but in a sense it is in that if we don't get our shit together real f....ing soon there won't be any hope of life as we know it ie, an economy that will support our wonderful hobby of flying our Mooney's. Airport restaurants will fail for good FBO's will close Avgas will be unavailable because the cost to produce vs demand will make it non profitable, on and on. I really hope that all the smartest people in the room that have successfully shut the world down out of fear are proven wrong. And when that happens they are at least educated enough to admit it. Nothing in the history of our country has so quickly and effectively done more damage to our freedoms than this even 911 didn't force mom and pop business to close their doors yes it did make life different in many ways but nothing like what we're experiencing now. And now as people's patients are running out all we are seeing is more demanding self restrictions being recommended by our state and local governments. Local news Lake county CA total cases 6 with 5 fully recovered and the one remaining doing Ok. Maybe if were lucky they will let us have a few months of freedom before we have to shut it all down again in the fall. And yes this issue is ripe with political differences but this thread has been mostly just a great discussion respectfully made.
