  1. Probably not. Dispatch reliability and weather just aren't going to cooperate as basically everyone has said.. Better chances with a turbo and tks.
  2. since I got all you cali guys in here, anything I need to know about mammoth lakes aside from usual mtn airport concerns?
  3. looks like 20oz or 24oz if you like a porterhouse.39 or 43 bones though. sucks about the wx.
  4. if thats actually an approach position and not a dbrite then it's one of I don't know how many tracabs in operation. There are probably more flying m22's than tracabs.
  5. Und used to do one, it seemed decent but I guess 13 is a bit young. http://aviation.und.edu/prospective-students/aerocamp.aspx
  6. Tough to say. Beach would be great but not much beach there. Lotta rocks.
  7. or, all the way to the scene of the crash, in this case.
  8. I have never seen chat flourish on a forum.
  9. I really don't care about the theory as much as I'm looking for the technique.
  10. they offer the class online now, I think it's either new or I just haven't noticed it before. Has anyone taken the online? It's $395 but more importantly the in-person class is always over a weekend and I work weekends, making it challenging to attend.
  11. I have no idea what the cause was but being in the pac nw water in fuel is always a concern I'm sure. Too bad, looked like a nice Cherokee six. When I saw the tail I thought it might be a 231 based on the paint.
  12. He's probably stuck in traffic and has plenty of time to talk, lol
  13. Our airplane got hailed on in the 90s and it was repaired poorly. Don redid the repairs and did it right. Things can go wrong with wing repairs for sure. That said, a tks bravo for 120k? I'm your huckleberry. I'd do it if I could offload the rocket and swing it
  14. http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/no-injuries-after-small-plane-crashes-on-mukilteo-street/
  15. Yeah, btdt. Turned out he probably made the right call too, wx moved in a little later than forecast. It wasn't a high priority, she got to her treatment and has family here so an easy one night stay.
  16. I only wear a mask above 180 and then it's a silicone mic mask. The cannulas aren't bad at all
  17. what's that? Can't hear you from up here.
  18. Real pretty after the fresh snow. Clouds were starting to build on the return trip. First time to dro strangely. Guy cancelled on taking her back today, I think it's doable right now. Better than forecast imo but that's his comfort level.
  19. Yeah they're so rare you really appreciate them. Bjc. Made bjc to dro in 1+12 and back in 1+02 A couple small clouds I should have deviated around really thumped us though. Whispy innocent looking little buggers too. Was an angel flight and she had flown gliders for years so didn't upset her any that I could tell.
  20. I'm still trying to get LOP ops down. Tried it today at FL180. Tried 31" which is about 70% and tried 30" which is about 65% when running ROP. Could not get the TIT as low as I'd like (1600) before the engine woudl start to stumble. Didn't care to go lower power, had place to be. Frustrating. Gami spread was .2 IIRC. Will keep experimenting I guess but I would have thought at least 65% power would work if not 70.
  21. tough to do away from your own hangar with no tools. But yeah, you are.
  22. same happened to our partner. Nose tire flat on landing, stuck on runway. It was $100 just to get the plane on a dolly and off the runway and then about what you paid, about $300 for a tire and tube, there abouts. This guy wanted to jack the plane and swing the gear to make sure nothing got damaged ( )
