  1. I assume one of those things is the manifold pressure sensor needs calibration.
  2. If it’s the relay, mine is installed in the footwell, looks like this: It’s installed in a socket, try pulling it, using electronic cleaner and see if that makes a difference. Notice you have easy access to check connections with a multimeter.
  3. If both aren’t working, I would check the switch first.
  4. Yikes [emoji15], are you over 70? Nearly same except 1000+ hours, $2600, but maybe something changed in the last 6 months.
  5. You can retrofit early models, my 78 has 1 piece belly, winglets, speed brakes, wing taxi/landing lights, etc.
  6. Why does the Dukes actuator require this much maintenance, where the Eaton doesn’t? Is the Eaton just sealed better or have stronger components?
  7. Mine is very similar, same labels, except my Vickers sticker has the pertinent information stamped on it and my clutch spring has been replaced 3 times, also stamped, 3rd time it was done by Lasar I think, just after I bought the plane (it’s emergency extension cord jammed).
  8. You can probably do GFC500 (3 servos), GTN650, G3X, G5, GMA345 and GTX 345….a complete all Garmin panel for $60K-$70K. So that gives you a baseline.
  9. Pick a good shop, where are you located?
  10. Lots of variables, some like to have their legs bent and need to be closer, I’m 6’ and I prefer the seat all the way back, my legs are straight (33” inseam) and I have to point my toes to activate the brakes. Just find one to sit in, some like it, some don’t.
  11. I moved the alternate air and speed brakes switch to that piece when I redid my panel.
  12. For Lycomings (I have A3B6), other than Skytec, what are other options? Some say the B&C BC315 doesn’t fit?
  13. Better selection. There’s simply more to choose from.
  14. No, they still have negative reviews, they might censor the “this FBO sucks” comments. It would be pretty easy to automatically delete certain comments with keywords.
  15. So you add the alternate airport to the end and when ready to exit the missed approach hold, then what?
  16. My AP did mine and use the sealant to frame the window and seal it from the outside.
  17. Try closing the footwell vents. I can imagine the air could be causing a poor connection to be breaking or shorting out. Visually check headset connections under the panel.
  18. That’s been my experience, I think you will only get extended life if you put it on a trickle charger.
  19. I found directing the copilot side to the pilot side and vice versa maximizes the flow over your body, overheads I try to direct into my face.
  20. Yeah, it looks like he just screwed the mounting bracket to plastic, it’s not attached to the steel supports. That doesn’t seem like a secure solution.
  21. I would consider upgrading to a 1 piece belly panel.
  22. If you ever choose to upgrade your panel, I would suggest you replace the defrost hoses while you have the panel disassembled.
  23. That happens if using a Bluetooth audio connection, but the G3X/audio panel should be all wired.
  24. I would imagine that takes some dexterity to get back to it, some people may not be able manage it.
  25. Check out airnav.com, will help plan out your fuel stops. This time of year, fly early, plan on landing early to avoid thunderstorms and turbulence. Stop at airports that have maintenance facilities, just in case you need it.
