  1. Only 500-600 fpm at 15k? That’s awesome!
  2. Yeah, if tower tells you what to do, that helps and I’d say that’s “alternate missed approach instructions”. Otherwise, the aim seems clear, turn toward the landing runway, start a climb, intercept the missed approach course for the approach flown, execute published missed for the approach you flew (not for the runway you were planning to land on).
  3. If you use warm tks fluid, say from a tank that sat on a heater vent inside for the night, and spray that on, I think you’ll be in good shape.
  4. I don’t have bladders but I’ve had at least two cases of fuel leaking out the top through screws. It can happen. If it’s behind the bladders, is there an inspection plate or two you can pull to look around? Im sure there are more blue stains inside the wing that could help you track it down.
  5. Just to add some reference to my point, this from aim 5-4-21… c. If visual reference is lost while circling − to − land from an instrument approach, the missed approach specified for that particular procedure must be followed (unless an alternate missed approach procedure is specified by ATC). To become established on the prescribed missed approach course, the pilot should make an initial climbing turn toward the landing runway and continue the turn until established on the missed approach course. Inasmuch as the circling maneuver may be accomplished in more than one direction, different patterns will be required to become established on the prescribed missed approach course, depending on the aircraft
  6. Alright, I’ll bite… why wouldn’t the published missed approach for the approach being flown be the correct one? I can see if they gave you an alternate missed approach instruction (“climb out instructions”), but even on circling approaches, you’re supposed to turn toward the runway, intercept the missed approach course and fly the published missed for the approach you flew. So it’s not the missed for the runway you intended landing on (one may not even exist for that runway), but I thought you would always fly the missed for the approach you had flown?
  7. Did you ever figure it out?
  8. It looks like a small piece of bent steel with 2 holes for the 1.5” extension. Then you shift the pedals to the back hole and use the piece of metal for the brake connection. If it can’t be procured, you might think about owner produced? The 3” version seems like a little more work.
  9. The soft inside of the Bruce’s is key for the windows and paint. At least that’s my opinion. My bruces looks used but it’s definitely holding up well!
  10. Dang, I don’t have extensions. I would have loved the extra inch, but I guess I’m glad I didn’t suffer unnecessarily for the last 7 years. I use the last seat hole or slide back in flight. Here’s a picture for future reference…
  11. ha! Weak! It’s 16 degrees here in Spokane and I’m going to the airport to look at my rudder pedals!
  12. Interesting. I’m not good ad drawings but that part is labeled “extension”.
  13. Great, now I’m gonna be upside down in my airplane, under the seat taking pictures… Is this the 1.5” extension I circled?
  14. I agree, I’m gonna open up the air exchange box next month during annual. I’ve adjusted it before and it’s pretty easy but never perfectly sealed. Is yours the butterfly valve type? Mine is a ‘68.
  15. It was about 15 degrees F on the ground today. -22C at 9500’ (that’s real cold). Heater output was about 75F no matter what I did (ROP or LOP), but my temp gage was admittedly low tech. Beautiful day to fly but really glad I had lots of layers on! My heater isn’t perfect, but it’s actually aligned/working pretty good with the butterfly valve. A tiny bit of cold air leaks in the vent with both heat and vent off. She climbed like a homesick angel with just me and 30 gallons of fuel at that temp!
  16. Once you have an eis on the left mag position, you don’t have an sos or impulse coupling. The OP has a Surefly mag there, so no need for the sos anymore.
  17. I think there’s a similar thread here, but you should contact @Bob Weber, he is very good at troubleshooting these over the phone. His phone number ison MS if you search.
  18. Lear is a handful on a tight pattern, low, at night, in poor vis…
  19. Have you guys looked at one of your own patterns on adsb just to make sure the speeds match up? I’m just saying that sometimes adsb gets sketchy near the ground. I try to fly 100mph dw, 90mph xwind, 80mph final in my F… with winds and adsb issues (especially if the adsb is relying on atc radar), the speeds may look way different.
  20. It can also depend on your cylinders. If you have a recent engine, you’ll likely have steel cylinders and @N201MKTurbo advice is good, but if you have chrome cylinders (which are likely older) you’ll have more consumption just due to the way the chrome wears vs the rings.
  21. There are a few other FF generates alets that might be helpful as well-entering runway comes to mind.
  22. Makes sense. I thought it would still start ok on the left mag if you left that p lead connected?
  23. Well it’s 20 more hp and who would ever say they want LESS horsepower?!
