  1. El Paso Aero is good shop that my dad and I used many times in the past living in EP.
  2. I'm at T31 as well with a Bravo if you want to see a long body. We need to get a mooney group together on the field.
  3. I have the Sentry and built a Stratux box. Both are identical in traffic reception. I like the size and CO monitor of the Sentry. Very happy with mine.
  4. I have a hanger in western NC at KRHP that is empty most of the time. I will use it about 45 days a year. I purchased it because getting one where I want to be in a few years was worth the money. I would be interested in something like a hanger sharing or trade with others like me.
  5. I saw the exact same thing with my Bravo 1850+ hours when I purchased in January. Those same exact values were a bit high on the first oil change. The previous owner only used the plane 10 or so hours per year but was hangered. The numbers got better with each oil change at 25 hours of flying time. I put 120 hours on her since January and the analysis looks really good now. Fly the plane to 25 hours and repeat. Not sure if yours has a filter but make sure to cut it open and inspect if it does. Mine was very clean with very little in it.
  6. Everything to build and download is in this doc: http://www.jpitech.com/manuals/01/ReadMeBeforeDownload.pdf They discuss the Keyspan USB to DB9 adapter. It was the only one I was successful with on mine. Also, could not get the software to work properly on windows 10 so I used an old win7 laptop. DB 9 Connector: o Pin#5 -ground o Pin#2 signal • Jack end: o Center hole is signal o Outside shaft is ground.
  7. Spend the time to get the mooney to Longview for Don to repair. It's a fairly short flight and could be done with a ferry permit. Don understands these types of repairs better than anyone. You don't want him noticing the repair was not done correctly when he is ask to prebuy it when you sell it. Take the time to make sure it's all done right. Don pointed out several repairs on my past mooneys that no one else noticed. He is that good.
  8. I thought mine was pretty low at 950UL. I was thinking about having it weighed at annual (with Brian) this next week. I don't think it has been weighed since new with updates through the years.
  9. I second on Brian Wriston. Been doing mine for 15+ years.
  10. Jerry Johnson can teach most anything in a Mooney and I suspect this is old hat to him.... Or his son Mark in the Houston area is a AF fighter pilot and grew up on Moonies. That's who I would contact first.
  11. I had this same issue. No troubleshooting just replaced the GA35. There is a known issue with some early releases of this antenna. My symptoms were exactly the same on my G530W.
  12. There was an issue with some of the first antennas shipped for the G430W taking everything out when beginning to fail. I personally had this exact issue with my G530W. It's well documented and a replacement antenna solved the issue.
  13. My first was a 1978 C Model based on my dad's recommendation and finding it. Best money I ever spent flying. Owned 3 other Mooneys since then with a T210 and BE36 in the middle. Still come back to a Mooney. Best value for young flyers and families.
  14. Mine does not fluctuate during flight and always in green. It has always been the same since I got the plane in January. I'm just asking to compare notes with other Bravo owners. My engine is at 1970 hrs so just really watching all the details and understand from others.
  15. What fuel pressure are others getting in cruise? Mine is 30PSI which is the lower end of the green area. Is it too low?
  16. I have both a Stratux and the new Sentry. I'm very happy with the Sentry and find it works as well as my Stratux. Knowing what I know now, I would go Sentry.
  17. You will be totally screwed on fees and gas at AVL. I will never ever fly there again. If it's not too far, then KRHP (Andrews NC) is a great stop. Tell Joe I said hello and sent you. He will take great care of you. Even get the plane washed for a very fair price.
  18. Curious which MSC you are using for the annual in NC? I have a vacation home in Bryson City and spend time there in the summer. Looking for an annual option for my bravo next summer when I'm not really using the plane. Great looking Bravo. Wish I was still in the market to buy.
  19. Brian Kendrick was referred to me as a second set of eyes on my Bravo. He only works on long body Mooneys. Based at KHYI 830-370-1190. He was referred to me from two long term mooney instructors which I have known for 20+ years.
  20. The old one had to be sent to Dawley to make a new replacement part. Mooney no longer had the part. DMax took care of it and made the process painless other than the cost and down time. Worked out ok considering we found it before my Bravo was a fire ball in flight.
  21. I had to replace the section next to the wastegate which was cracked.
  22. I looked at N64HK when I was shopping. But I ended up with a 1992 with an engine at 1890 hours. Well equipped avionics wise but need to do ADSB. I have put 80 hours on it since January and the oil analysis has come back better each time. The previous owner did not fly it but about 20 hrs a year for the last 4 years. I've had a few expenses like an exhaust section that needed repair and a mag failure. I'm hoping to get another 100 or so hours as the oil analysis last came back really good. I guess the first real annual will tell the story on what I own. Bought it at a price to install everything new firewall forward and still be OK. I'm owned two 1978 C models, a 77 J in the past. Love this airplane almost as much as the T210 I once owned. I like the size of the T210 better but love the Mooney speed.
  23. Thanks for posting this photo. I see no evidence of there ever being a rivet installed on my intercooler ducting. Wonder if this was done on later models? Mine is a 1992. Looks like it could easily be fabricated. I'll look on the parts manual and see if there is a part number.
  24. Was there a history of oil analysis being done?
  25. What are the costs of the various seminars? Wife interested in the right seat seminar.
