    I knew separators needed to be positioned properly so I went over to the MSC on my field and looked at other Ovation that had them. I believe its a factory option because there is a place provisioned for them on the baffling. Mine was in the same position as every other one. Mine could have been clogged or dirty causing the problems but things didn't seem correct, instead of figuring out the problem I just removed it. I will be curious to see if there is a difference in my oil samples.

    I had an M20 air/oil seperator and I kept getting a big streak of oil on my landing gear door after shut down and what look like fine spray on the belly. I removed the seperator and my oil consumption decreased! Went from 1 quart every 10 hours to ever 12 hours. I still get a streak but it's liquid which is consistent with condensation not straight oil.

    I put it their hangar Monday morning and they put it back in mine Friday by noon. I normally touch base with them 6-8 weeks out to make sure it get done. This year I forgot and they just called me and let me know they where taking my plane for for the week. I was glad they remembered:)

    Today I will be taking off and its 108 outside! The air conditioning switch is by far my favorite for the next 2 months.

    I would grab a 12 pack and just sit in it and drink them all! Of course I would wear my aviator glasses, captains hat and shirt. Damn neighbors!

    That was the issue for me when I was buying my plane and eneded up going with an older S with a glass panel and WAAS. For those that don't think WAAS is that important there where 3200 new approaches added last year to airport that otherwise did have them.

    Annual just completed and got the report back. I had to replace a tire. Stinkin' thieves! There was plenty of good tread around that flat spot:) CrownAir MSC at KMYF has always been fair and I recommend them. Even when the reports haven't been as good they have never created work or billed excessive hours.

    Sorry miss understood you. Im picking my plane up from its annual tomorrow I will ask the question. I thought you where inquiring the location to visually inspect it as suggested above.

    Follow the fuel line out of the fuel pump it will go the the transducer which is mounted in the middle of the firewall.

    Did you happen to try you electric fuel pump to see if it boosted the FF?

    If you want to have a good laugh go out and do a landing in a 172 after you get your short field down in your Mooney. I did a BFR in a 172 a couple of years ago for the fun of it and after the landing my instructor and I just started laughing on how short the ground roll was. It was like a gymnist sticking their dismount and not budging, a perfect 10.

    Oceanside airport KOKB in a Piper Warrior. My instructor was a British guy that flew classic tail wheels. He would always stress and beat me up over the rudder pedals, big stickler on taxing also. Great basic stick and rudder skills. On my landing he would always compare them to a tail wheel landing. If I landed flat and all wheels touched simultaneously he would say, perfect wheel landing but we are not in a tail wheel.

    I do it per my POH and works perfect. Throttle set to idle, mxture rich, low boost pump on. After it starts, lean aggressively and boost pump off. Much easier than my previous J.

    Knock 5 kts of your airspeed and raise your flaps as soon as you hit ground effect just before the numbers. It will set right down where you want it.

    I have a GDL-69 and FS 210. I wonder if it will put the XM weather on the ForeFlight? Edit: FF website only mention GDL-88, so I don't think it will.
