You better hide pal! Change your name all you want, I'll find ya! ;) Actually, Jim will have saved me between $700 and $900 if I do go with WingX -- but he did cost me $100 for the Xavion! I still owe him a beer either way.

When I renewed my Wing X this year they had a three year subscription for $169.99. Definitely has saved me lots of money on charts and maps.

I think that the 3 year WingX renewal is now $199. I just renewed a few days ago and I took advantage of the 3 year option, but I'm not sure of the amount now. Jim
$199, wonder if an Oshkosh special is in the works...

Yeah, maybe the $169 3 year renewal deal that moodychief got was a Sun 'n Fun special that they will revisit for Oshkosh? Its still a great deal, though, at $199 in my opinion. I have only flown with ADS-B about a half dozen times, and never in close proximity to NEXRAD returns. On my first flight with SkyRadar I did pan out, though, and see significant returns over South Florida and Cuba, which are around 500 nm away from me here in the Florida panhandle. I flew a few days ago with the WingX/SkyRadar combo and painted a few light returns about 50 nm south of my position, but thankfully since I am VFR only I haven't seen anything like the stuff that Hilton advertises above. The display was consistent with what you see above, though. We had lots of scattered "puffies" (technical term) that day, and I'm not surprised that a few of them had developed into small thunderstorms, which is what I think I was looking at to my south.
Next time you get some weather, paint it for me! The weather I showed wasn't from Hilton. That was for a storm that just passed my house an I capture on Garmin Pilot. Still trying to figure out how to get weather on my WingX map.

That is a glaring deficiency of WingX as far as I am concerned. For flight planning purposes, you can't overlay NEXRAD or cloud cover on the maps on the ground via Internet-based sources of weather information. Surely he will do something about this soon. All of the other cool kids are doing it already, I believe. Jim
Ah ha! I am not nuts! Maybe insane but certainly not nuts!

We're in for some weather this evening from PA to NJ. Tornado warnings...

I looked at FlyQ, because that gets to the pictures fatest.

Same info is available through WingX, but not on the right screen.

Unfortunately ADSB doesn't work at ground level, I would keep it in the car...

The state lines are a good idea. I just didn't know what they were for a couple of days. Black zig-zag lines on the east coast, with the similar dimension as victor routes. At least the victors start and finish at known points.

We should collect And develop our ideas for improvements here and forward them to Hilton...

For traffic separation?  You know if the other cars are not squaking on a Mode C and being queried by another car equipped with ADS-B out.....
