I can get the new Sigmatec 4000 C for a little over 1600 bones, a Mid Continent OH for $1400ish or a repair for around $800. Anybody been through this and what would you recommend? Quote
rob Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I had my DG overhauled about 9 months/200 hours ago and haven't had any problems out of it since. I had the folks at Rudy Aircraft Instruments do it and they did it pretty quick. It's an S-Tec linked DG and I believe the OH cost somewhere around 400. YMMV. Quote
skyking Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I had mine done just after i bought the plane at a cost of $850 bucks. 6 months later it crapped out again and i replaced it with the sigmatec. I would not bother to have it fixed. Just go ahead and spend the extra bucks. My transponder also went south just after i bought the plane. Had it fixed and it crapped out about 9 months later so i replaced that with the Garmin digital one. I learned my lesson. If it is 30 years old. Replace it dont bother having it fixed. Quote
