OldGlassMan Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 I am a oldie from this forum who moved and went silent for about 18 months now. I have a '68 M20G (used to be in the gallery, maybe I will repost it now that my retirement and move are complete). I just had my annual static checks done. The tech informed me that the pitot system has a leak in the housing of the pressure switch that prevents gear retraction until IAS is 80 (located near the left panel wall below the airspeed indicator). It's not bad, but a pain for the static check because the test pitot connection must be done at the airpeed indicater to avoid the airspeed going negative during the test. I have the Dukes switch, and it is no longer available. I have no idea if it can be repaired or not, or what the alternatives are. Mooney has the one they use on the "K" and later, but the thing is really expensive. Any Ideas out there? RFB Quote
