DonMuncy Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 On my way to Fredericksburg, my Garmin 696 indicated its battery was low. It was still plugged into the cigarette lighter plug. I turned to lighing down to conserve battery power and completed the flight. Today I tried without success to charge it up. Using a charging cord for my Nuvi (same connector configuration), it won't turn on when plugged in, as it usually does. When turned off, it does not go into "charging" configuration. It seems I'm stuck with a low battery and no way to charge it. Any ideas. Quote
gregwatts Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 I have had a similar issue with mine. Try unplugging from the cigarette lighter and then completely removing the battery for about 1 minute......return the battery and then plug in again. Quote
carusoam Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Don, Thinking out loud... Is there a fuse in it's plug that may have blown? -a– Quote
