jcolgan Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 My Delco-Remy starter, part number 1109519, has failed. The leading bushing (by the flywheel) failed and deeply scored the shaft before giving any sign of a problem. That was easily accessible, probably should have put a drop of oil on it once a month. Anyone have a serviceable replacement? Parts manual says it is a 1109689.
Yetti Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 You could probably find it at NAPA. or B&C makes a good product. https://bandc.com/product/bc315-starter-stc-pma/
N201MKTurbo Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 You can replace the bendix. I have a used starter in the hangar. It was working when removed about 20 years ago. I will sell it cheap. You won’t find the bendix at NAPA, you have to go to a diesel truck electric place.
jcolgan Posted August 11 Author Report Posted August 11 Thanks, but I found and bought a remanufactured unit just about an hour ago.
